I'm a third generation candy corn lover on my Mom's side of the family. Sugar runs through my veins this time of year. The original, orange white and yellow, not the indian corn variety of orange, white and brown (chocolate). Maybe even consider it a vegetable in the 4 major food groups. Even love to see it in a clear glass candy dish. Who else shares my seasonal addiction?
As a side note, my Mom celebrated spring with tray after tray of the yellow Easter Peeps. Never could share her enthusiasm for the chicks. |
has to be love or hate?
I don't hate it, but prefer not to eat it, it is just to sweet for me. dh LOVES it ... |
no candy corn or peeps for me
Love to see it in the candy dish, can't stand to eat it. Might as well take a huge spoonful of sugar and suck it down. Can't stand Peeps either.
Like Brach's Honey Corn.

I LOVE Candy Corn........YUMMO!
Ugh! Not for me!
Love it!! Especially this time of year with the the brown and white. I eat it in layers, first the white, then yellow, then chocolate :)
Hate!
Love both kinds of candy corn & love Peeps. I'm happy that the company now makes seasonal Peeps--pumpkins, ghosts, Christmas things like trees, etc.
candy corn and circus peanut candy are a big NO for me.
Do not like it!
 |
Love candy corn, any color.
Hate the peeps. My ex used to open all the leftover peeps in the kids' Easter Basket and wait a day or two till they were stale, then he'd eat them. Ick |
Candy corn.....yum! :)
love it love it love it Eat it with peanuts and it tastes just like a payday candy bar
Yummy.......and when you take one candy corn with 3 dry roasted peanuts and eat them together it tastes like a payday candy bar....and thats yummy too!!
Haha Nancy, we must of been typing that reply at the same time! LOL
And I like the Indian corn variety better than the original yellow, orange white kind...maybe because of the chocolate flavor?? But I haven't bought any this year...trying to cut back on sugar. Hoping I make it through the rest of the season without giving in to temptation.
Love it!
Love it. And at this time of the year it's actually considered a vegetable. :)
OK ladies!
What on earth is it? Different from popcorn, evidently, and similar to cotton candy (which we do have in Europe - called Candy Floss here!) Is it something I can make? Mind you, for the sake of health, it sounds as though we should stick to Toffee Apples at Hallowe'en and Parkin (very dense ginger spiced cake) and Cinder Toffee for Bonfire night! Helen (British family living in Sweden) |
I'm not that big of a fan of candy corn but I love Peeps! I just bought my two packages of Ghost peeps. Those are my favorite.
My mom actually loved candy corn. I'm thinking about doing a candy corn quilt in her memory. |
First of all, I LOVE LOVE LOVE Candy Corn! Its the ONLY thing about Halloween that I like! Second, STALE PEEPS are the only ones I eat. I love them, as long as they r stale. My mom to this day still cuts a slit in my peeps a few days before she gives them to me. And yes, Im a 30ish yr old woman and my mommy still buys me peeps!
My dad would mix candy corn, red hots, and salted peanuts together. Great combination.
Love it and I swear I'm not going to buy any- just like I always do :D:D
Yes Helen, you can make it....I have a friend that makes it from scratch every year, but she says it takes a bit to do it. You can do an internet search on how to make candy corn and you will find lots of recipes for it.

Helen (British family living in Sweden) How to explain candy corn. It's basically just sugar- looks like little triangles and is just a little chewy, not really though. Nothing really special about it except it's a fun Halloween tradition in the states. I don't believe it's anything you can make but I could be wrong. It's nothing like cotton candy. I once had a British neighbor who made the best toffee in the entire world!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sue |
It's pretty but it has a weird consistency. Not exactly a fan. Sometimes I forget and grab some. Spit-spit-spit
I love it, and am trying to resist buying it. Peeps, well, I can take them or leave them.

I love candy corn. Have tried to avoid it this year as I can't "eat just one". It's a good thing I can't find it all year long. Glad to see others share my addiction.
I love it but can't eat it, way too much sugar for me.
I love candy corn but it has to be Brach's. I also love the Brach's Harvest Mix of pumpkins, banana flavored ears of corn, Maple flavored syrup jugs, Chocolate cats and bats and large pieces of candy corn.
Candy corn and peeps are the only candy I really allow myself I can buy them and freeze them and eat a little at a time
Love the festive look of them in a bowl, but do not like to eat them. And I am a total sugar junkie, so I can't figure that one out. Don't eat peeps either. Prefer my sugar with a side of chocolate please!
I like candy corn, but prefer the autumn mix with the pumpkins. I eat those first. Hate peeps! I always send them to my sister, who loves them (especially when they get stale, YUK!).
I love candy corn. And it is pretty in a jar. But it hurts my teeth to eat it!
