I'm a third generation candy corn lover on my Mom's side of the family. Sugar runs through my veins this time of year. The original, orange white and yellow, not the indian corn variety of orange, white and brown (chocolate). Maybe even consider it a vegetable in the 4 major food groups. Even love to see it in a clear glass candy dish. Who else shares my seasonal addiction?

As a side note, my Mom celebrated spring with tray after tray of the yellow Easter Peeps. Never could share her enthusiasm for the chicks.

has to be love or hate?

I don't hate it, but prefer not to eat it, it is just to sweet for me.

dh LOVES it ...

QuiltnNan 10-26-2011 10:29 AM

no candy corn or peeps for me

athomenow 10-26-2011 10:30 AM

Love to see it in the candy dish, can't stand to eat it. Might as well take a huge spoonful of sugar and suck it down. Can't stand Peeps either.

COYOTEMAGIC 10-26-2011 10:32 AM

Like Brach's Honey Corn.

I'm more of a take it or leave it kinda person. I have to be in the mood for it.
As for peeps, never have and never will like them. The thought of them make my teeth hurt.

Love it but have vowed not to buy any this year....don't want to temp myself. I am diabetic...once I start that can't quit.

Yep. Only the honey corn for me. And ditto, don't care for the indian corn.

quiltsillysandi 10-26-2011 10:37 AM

I LOVE Candy Corn........YUMMO!

Painiacs 10-26-2011 11:00 AM

Ugh! Not for me!

RenaB 10-26-2011 11:06 AM

Love it!! Especially this time of year with the the brown and white. I eat it in layers, first the white, then yellow, then chocolate :)

kso 10-26-2011 11:08 AM

Hate!

gramajo 10-26-2011 11:17 AM

Love both kinds of candy corn & love Peeps. I'm happy that the company now makes seasonal Peeps--pumpkins, ghosts, Christmas things like trees, etc.

Helovesme 10-26-2011 11:25 AM

candy corn and circus peanut candy are a big NO for me.

Annie68 10-26-2011 11:27 AM

Do not like it!

AlwaysQuilting 10-26-2011 11:29 AM

Love candy corn, any color.
Hate the peeps. My ex used to open all the leftover peeps in the kids' Easter Basket and wait a day or two till they were stale, then he'd eat them. Ick

Jammin' Jane 10-26-2011 11:36 AM

Candy corn.....yum! :)

sewwhat85 10-26-2011 11:39 AM

love it love it love it Eat it with peanuts and it tastes just like a payday candy bar

Elginrunnerswife 10-26-2011 11:52 AM

Yummy.......and when you take one candy corn with 3 dry roasted peanuts and eat them together it tastes like a payday candy bar....and thats yummy too!!

Elginrunnerswife 10-26-2011 11:55 AM

Haha Nancy, we must of been typing that reply at the same time! LOL

patchsamkim 10-26-2011 11:55 AM

And I like the Indian corn variety better than the original yellow, orange white kind...maybe because of the chocolate flavor?? But I haven't bought any this year...trying to cut back on sugar. Hoping I make it through the rest of the season without giving in to temptation.

quiltstodo 10-26-2011 11:56 AM

Love it!

sandyl 10-26-2011 11:58 AM

Love it. And at this time of the year it's actually considered a vegetable. :)

ScoutingSquirrel 10-26-2011 12:00 PM

OK ladies!
What on earth is it?

Different from popcorn, evidently, and similar to cotton candy (which we do have in Europe - called Candy Floss here!)

Is it something I can make?

Mind you, for the sake of health, it sounds as though we should stick to Toffee Apples at Hallowe'en and Parkin (very dense ginger spiced cake) and Cinder Toffee for Bonfire night!

I'm not that big of a fan of candy corn but I love Peeps! I just bought my two packages of Ghost peeps. Those are my favorite.

My mom actually loved candy corn. I'm thinking about doing a candy corn quilt in her memory.

chelgvns 10-26-2011 12:06 PM

First of all, I LOVE LOVE LOVE Candy Corn! Its the ONLY thing about Halloween that I like! Second, STALE PEEPS are the only ones I eat. I love them, as long as they r stale. My mom to this day still cuts a slit in my peeps a few days before she gives them to me. And yes, Im a 30ish yr old woman and my mommy still buys me peeps!

julia58 10-26-2011 12:13 PM

My dad would mix candy corn, red hots, and salted peanuts together. Great combination.

sueisallaboutquilts 10-26-2011 12:14 PM

Love it and I swear I'm not going to buy any- just like I always do :D:D

Elginrunnerswife 10-26-2011 12:17 PM

Yes Helen, you can make it....I have a friend that makes it from scratch every year, but she says it takes a bit to do it. You can do an internet search on how to make candy corn and you will find lots of recipes for it.

Hi Helen!!!
How to explain candy corn. It's basically just sugar- looks like little triangles and is just a little chewy, not really though. Nothing really special about it except it's a fun Halloween tradition in the states.
I don't believe it's anything you can make but I could be wrong. It's nothing like cotton candy.
I once had a British neighbor who made the best toffee in the entire world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's pretty but it has a weird consistency. Not exactly a fan. Sometimes I forget and grab some. Spit-spit-spit

mic-pa 10-26-2011 12:22 PM

I love it, and am trying to resist buying it. Peeps, well, I can take them or leave them.

I love candy corn. Have tried to avoid it this year as I can't "eat just one". It's a good thing I can't find it all year long. Glad to see others share my addiction.

wanda lou 10-26-2011 12:25 PM

I love it but can't eat it, way too much sugar for me.

Mitch's mom 10-26-2011 12:33 PM

I love candy corn but it has to be Brach's. I also love the Brach's Harvest Mix of pumpkins, banana flavored ears of corn, Maple flavored syrup jugs, Chocolate cats and bats and large pieces of candy corn.

jayelee 10-26-2011 12:33 PM

Candy corn and peeps are the only candy I really allow myself I can buy them and freeze them and eat a little at a time

Mad Mimm 10-26-2011 12:37 PM

Love the festive look of them in a bowl, but do not like to eat them. And I am a total sugar junkie, so I can't figure that one out. Don't eat peeps either. Prefer my sugar with a side of chocolate please!

Opal Jane 10-26-2011 12:41 PM

I like candy corn, but prefer the autumn mix with the pumpkins. I eat those first. Hate peeps! I always send them to my sister, who loves them (especially when they get stale, YUK!).

HummerGardenCrafts 10-26-2011 12:42 PM

I love candy corn. And it is pretty in a jar. But it hurts my teeth to eat it!
