Candy Question

I bought some bags of asst candies for an upcoming retreat. I got to thinking about which ones would I eat first second and third. LOL I guess you could say which ones are my favorites?

so here is what I decided:

1. Tootsie Rolls
2. Black Licorice
3. Milky Way
4. Hershey's with almonds
5. Bit o Honey

so what are your first 5 favorite candy choices???

mrs. fitz 05-23-2015 10:46 AM

Peanut butter cups, peanut butter cups, peanut butter cups, peanut butter cups and peanut butter cups. Not trying to be funny, I'm being honest. Candy isn't one of my "big things" but pb cups, that's a different story.

notmorecraft 05-23-2015 10:48 AM

I'm in the UK but I luurv butterfingers, peanut butter pieces, peanut butter cups (can you see a theme here) and twister red liquorice.

2 - bridge mix
3 - willy wonka runts
4 - smarties

Quiltaddict 05-23-2015 11:12 AM

1. Maple Nut Goodies
2. Red Hots
3. Peach gummy Rings
4. Dark Chocolate Covered Nuts
5. Milky Way Midnight

lynnie 05-23-2015 11:25 AM

chocolate, PBCups, chocolate covered anything, licorice, jelly stuff like orange slices and then more chocolate.

quiltingcandy 05-23-2015 11:42 AM

Except for black licorice - yes to all of the above. But I also like various hard candies. When I sew I don't want to touch anything like chocolate - so butterscotch drops - peppermints - Jolly Roger candies - and suddenly I want to run to the store and buy a variety.

Oh and those orange slices - don't let me sit next to them I would eat them one after another until they are gone - I have no resistance.

juneayerza 05-23-2015 12:33 PM

Bit of Honey
Heath Bar
See's Chocolate Covered Walnuts
Chocolate Fudge
Various See's Chocolates

See's Chocolates are found only on the West Coast and are wonderful candies

rogue Bit o honey is a nutty taffy that is just wonderful! It's an old fashioned candy but you can still get it in some places.

paoberle 05-24-2015 02:58 AM

Dark chocolate, at least 60% cacao.

sandy l 05-24-2015 03:11 AM

Well, first would have to be DeBrands (local candy maker) truffles, any flavor. Then next would be any chocolate with or without almonds, then Twix.

earthwalker 05-24-2015 03:55 AM

I am a chronic sweet tooth....

Dark Chocolate (peppermint or rum and raisin)
Extra Strong Peppermints
Humbugs
Fudge (generally of any description)
Truffles (preferably rum)

coopah 05-24-2015 04:47 AM

1. black licorice (or Good n Plenty) 2. Symphony chocolate bar 3. Milky Way 4. Tootsie Rolls 5. Butterfinger candy bar
Oh, yummers!

Edited to add: I agree with Jan about needing this topic! Trip to the store, anyone?

When my kids were young, I would let them eat pretty freely from their Halloween candy for a week or so, and then I'd toss it out, thinking they'd have grown tired of it. Turns out my daughter was saving her "best till last," and I chucked out all her best stuff, lol.

I felt bad, but honestly, I thought who thinks like that when it comes to candy? She sure didn't get that from me!

madamekelly 05-24-2015 09:33 AM

I don't like candy, and being diabetic that is a good thing, but just don't mention to me about brownies, warm, soft, perfect brownies....I said don't mention them didn't I? Lol! i decided that when I was told that I was diabetic, that I would chose one treat to keep, and give up the rest except for once in a blue moon. My A1c is perfect, so I will keep eating my occaisional brownie, and DH and the neighbors enjoy when I make them since I "force" them to eat the leftovers. Lol!

crafty pat 05-24-2015 09:33 AM

I have eaten chocolate from all over the world and have found none as good as good old American Hershey bars. That is my first choice followed by Peppermint Patty's, Milky Way. 5th Avenue and Mounds.

See's are my favorites and they actually have stores elsewhere now - not sure what other states but we have one in No TX at Stone Briar Mall and it is a real one where they have pre-wrapped and you can also get you box specially put together just as you like.

Doggramma 05-24-2015 01:44 PM

Jelly Bellies, Good N Plenty, Milk Duds, Skittles, dark chocolate of any kind

When we go through Missouri or KS I like to get a Cherry Mash. I like Stuckey's pecan logs too, but haven't seen any for a long time.

If I was in the UK I'd get myself to a sweets shop and get some CINDER TOFFEE! Amazing stuff. Haven't seen it in the US since I was a young kid.

notmorecraft 05-24-2015 09:31 PM

Sewbizgirl, not sure what cinder toffee is, different parts of UK have different names for things, if it's puff candy a kind of puffed up sugary consistency and a rich yellow colour, I can post recipe for you

JuanitaBean 05-24-2015 09:44 PM

Almond Joy, anything White or Milk Chocolate, Butterfingers, Toffee or with white or milk chocolate, Heath Bar.

May I ask for a copy? What you describe sounds like "Burnt Sugars" that Nana had once...

I AGREE! I am dissappointed when trying a premium chocolate only to be disappointed. Dove chocolate comes second for me. Gimme a Hershey Almond bar any day!

Your list comes close to mine.

1. Red licorice
2. Jelly slices: orange, cherry, lime, lemon
3. almond joy
4. Payday
5. Peanut butter anything

Mamia 05-25-2015 05:11 AM

Hershey crunch bars

Mars bars
anything milk chocolate<object type="cosymantecnisbfw" cotype="cs" id="SILOBFWOBJECTID" style="width: 0px; height: 0px; display: block;"></object>

Lori S 05-25-2015 05:16 AM

Almond Joy
Snickers with almonds
Kit Kat
Pay Day
Million Dollar Bar ( haven't seen these in awhile)

ziegamomma 05-25-2015 05:25 AM

Not Tootsie Rolls! I had a teacher friend who stored candy in her closet at school. The roaches and the ants would eat every candy in the closet except the Tootsie Rolls. I think there is a message there. If an roach or an ant won't eat Tootsie Rolls, then I probably shouldn't eat it either!
Good thing I wasn't very fond of them any way. Peanut butter cups, peanut M&Ms, Snickers, Rolos, chocolate. Chocolate is a major food group, right?
