I have neighbor's that I don't think anyone told them there were more words in the english lauguage beside cuss words. I 'm serious, every other word is a cuss word!!
It's soooo bad DH and I have to come in. We just can't stand hearing it. We live in a small rural town and I hate it . I have always lived out of town and now I know why.

This is so true.
If swearing is in our normal language, what do we use when we need something more (like when we slam our finger with a hammer)?
If hitting is normal, what's the next step?
Think about it. We need to save something for those times when frustration boils over, because it will, and that something will always be more aggressive than normal.

When I hear young people talking and their language needs bleeping every other word, I worry about their relationships.

I never had a problem with my kids or their friends cussing or being disrespectful that I'm aware of. They knew it was unacceptable with dire consequences to act that way, for one thing they all went to a private Christian school where there wasn't much exposure to rudeness. I completely ignore rude people.

My Dad never used a bad word in front of any of us. My husband's Dad could not form a sentence w/o a swear word in it. They were both such kind, wonderful men- very different upbringings is the only thing I can think of. When our kids were little we told them that whatever they heard was to stay out of our home.FIL did not curb his language in front of anyone! As adults we all laugh at how FIL just couldn't stay away from swearing but he was a big softy and that's what we remember most.
