Here is a picture of a baby kitty I found on my porch this morning. The other two ran away and were twice her size. She could barely walk, musch less run away. So I fed her milk and sent Dh to the store for canned kitten food and dried food. She is eating her third meal wtih us and is now asleep in her new bed I fixed for her. She even has her own teddy he bought to keep her company. She is the gray ball on the left.
She has been sleeping on my DH's lap. She is walking good already and has a good appetite. I haven't had a house cat in ages so we will see.

Here's Bella

Oh, Debbie, you are so sweet. That kitten landed on her feet. Maybe the other two knew where to bring her to get looked after, lucky puss!

debbieumphress 10-16-2010 02:07 PM

I was afraid to leave her outside because our HOund dog is big and might accidentally hurt her. I don't think she would have made it if I sent her back into the trees. So here she is, an unexpectd pleasure.

Rainy Day 10-16-2010 02:09 PM

Our son is desperate for a cat, but MOTH is still mourning his last cat - 17 years when he went, and me, I know it will be my job to clean the tray etc etc etc. And, the people here who want a cat are both ALLERGIC to them. What is that about????

wolfkitty 10-16-2010 02:09 PM

So kind of you to take care of her! I'm sure she appreciates it. Enjoy!

debbieumphress 10-16-2010 02:13 PM

I will be happier when I know she knows where the litter box is. LOL. I put her bed and food and water right next to it for now. Thanks for sharing. I am going to check her now. How fun......

canmitch1971 10-16-2010 02:17 PM

nativetexan 10-16-2010 02:31 PM

Kooklabell 10-16-2010 03:02 PM

I think above the picture it says her name is Bella. She sure is a lucky little one. And I'm sure one day you will think you're the very lucky one to have her. Kitties can be such fun and comfort.

Darlene 10-16-2010 03:12 PM

What a sweet kitty and you are too for taking her in. Surprises can be fun and I am sure she will catch on the litter box.

lauriejo 10-16-2010 03:17 PM

Oh she is adorable. Is she auditioning fabric for her very own quilt?

dream56 10-16-2010 03:47 PM

Deb - that looks like material she's laying on. I think she need a small quilt to make her feel right at home.

debbieumphress 10-16-2010 03:50 PM

It is actually a little lap quilt I make for the seniors in wheel chairs and I had one so it went for her bed. And she used the litter box an hour ago. I kept putting herin it every time she woke up. Yeah.

Meet Lucy Bella Sweetness.

Shemjo 10-16-2010 03:57 PM

Hello, Lucy Bella Sweetness! Good job on finding the litter box.

How precious is that! A momma stray had kittens in my husband's 1963 chevy this summer and she was solid black. In our 95 degree weather, I took her and the kittens into our AC. I managed to give all the kittens away but one, that I kept and he's asleep in my lap now. My male cat was the father, out of five kittens 3 were like him.

Your kitten looks like my male cat also, but I don't think he has strayed to Texas from Alabama.

You will enjoy this little one by watching it grow and play. I have mine.

We wish someone would drag a few kitties our way. But, Kola insists on being the one and only cat.

Moonpi 10-16-2010 04:24 PM

Tcharlie, two of the half-grown kitties that hit me up for food look suspiciously like him, too - just how far does that guy wander?

grammiepamie 10-16-2010 04:34 PM

Debbie you are kitties' guardian angel!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

dyer804 10-16-2010 04:46 PM

Oh! An angel kitty! I love kittens. Mine was less then four weeks when she was abandoned by her mother. A lady from work heard that I wanted a kitten for my boys and she has been with us for 13 years. October is her birthday month but we celebrate the anniversary of her arrival in November. I am so happy for you and such a pleasant distraction from day to day worries. Congratulations to both of you! She is such a luck kitty to have found you.

Sadiemae 10-16-2010 04:54 PM

amma 10-16-2010 05:32 PM

Awww what a sweet baby kitty, you are so kind and generous :D:D:D

ICU_FOSTERMOM 10-16-2010 05:46 PM

Congrats on the new little cuddle bug .She is adorable. I like the name You picked. I understand ,tho, that the name may change alittle, once You see how her personality develops.

We had 2 cats awhile back .The mother cat had wandered into our yard .So we named her '' Hobo''..aka Hobie. We started feeding her outside and then when the weather turned cold we brought her inside. We wanted her to be able to return to her original home if that was possible .

Then Hobo proceded to gift us with 5 litters before we were able to get her fixed . She was strange at birthing time. Hobo always wanted to have her babies on my lap. I had always been told that cats hide under a bed or in the back of a closet . Not Hobo

We kept just one of the kittens. He was born into my hands .
HE looked orange, but that's a lousy name for a cat so we called him ''Red''. Then once we found out how vocal he was his nickname became ''Mouth''. lol

They were indoor/outdoor cats. We live in the country.Well contrary to common beliefs, they both lived to a healthy and ripe old age of 23 years. They both did well until a week before the end. They left here a year apart.

We now have 3 rescued dogs.

Enjoy the little one. (~.~)lice

Sheila Elaine 10-16-2010 05:46 PM

How adorable & DH did good getting her own teddy for her.

dreamer2009 10-16-2010 05:53 PM

Of course we may have to change her name to Lucky Bell. LOL Time will tell.[/quote]
