We have the same problem on our 29 acres. Try the Irish Spring soap. It has to be the original scent. I cut it into large slices and made little net bags. We hang them in the trees. So far it has worked. The deer just about ate my whole Dogwood tree one year. I put the soap bag out and the tree came back.
I use it in our fruit trees too. The deer do not like the scent so you have to keep fresh soap out. Pretty cheap! Hope it works for you.

I also ask at the nurseries when I buy things...Heather, Rosemary, Lavender...they have done well here. The deer prefer other things and so far have left those alone.

Try a product called Deer Fence. If you can't find it at a local garden shop, it is available online. The concentrated form is more economical to use buy not cheap. I have deer that eat my lilies among other things. This is the only product I have found that works. It smells bad but the odar goes away quickly. I spray my plants about every two weeks or so with this unless there is heavy rain - then more often. Good luck.

We always used to put dried blood (purchased at garden shops) to keep the rabbits out of our garden and flowers. You might look for it and read the label.

Rabbits are the one thing that I haven't seen!!! :lol: :lol:

My girlfriend lives in one of the eastern suburbs of Denver Colorado. One year she had to have wild life removal specialists come remove a racoon family from her chimney. Last year it was squirrels in her attic. She is hoping the momma fox she's seen in the neighborhood takes up residence in her yard to keep the other critters away. The western suburbs of Denver have even more wild life with bears and mountain lions frequent vistors.

So far about the only wild life in my yard is rabbits. I know there are coyotes in the area though.

Don't know if it works for deer, but I've read that red pepper sprinkled around plants is supposed to keep squirrels away.

At one time I had a lovely, picture perfect Doberman Pinscher,
who, unfortunately, was mentally retarded, and always hated
any plant (or even bikes) that we put in the back yard or dog
yard. She would eat the plants down to the bare branches and
spit out the leaves. The only thing that stopped her was hosing
off the plants and sprinkling Cayenne Pepper on them. That
was the only thing that got the message to my poor Hilda.

We live out in the country and I tried growing a garden. The deer and the bear loved it. My sisters grow gardens but they have major $$$ in fences. Last year we had a moose stroll through our yard like if she owned the place. I used to have tulips and roses. I have Iris now and they seem to be left alone.

I've heard human urine is a deterrent for some critters like rabbits. Maybe that would work...
