My mom has collected depression glass for as long as I can remember. She bought and sold in her 2nd hand shop. She is 83. Each of us 6 kids picked a pattern and she helped us find pieces for the one we picked.
I have an extensive collection of Clear Manhattan.I also have Rudy pieces that mix and match with the Manhattan.Have had this collection for 40 years. Never had china these were our *good* dishes. Love it still. I also collect Wexford glass. j http://hardincountykeepsakes.blogspot.com/ |
I had a large assortment of Hazel Atlas "Royal Lace" in pink. I had inherited some of it from my great aunt. Really loved it, but lost it in a house fire. :-(

I collect the cherry blossom pattern also. My mother recently gave me a cake plate and 6 small plates that she received as a wedding gift 70 years ago.

I really don't collect Depression glass but I do have a collection I inherited from my mom. My father worked at the Hocking glass company in Lancaster Ohio between 1032 and 1937 and brought pieces he made home to my mom. I have the ice blue(very rare) Mayfair design and my sister got several pieces of the pink and green. I have them on display and will never sell them. My great grandkids will get them probably. I go to antique malls in Ohio all the time and have not seen any of the ice blue.

I have collected some green glass, Depression and Princess House. They are for my grand daughter. She loves anything green.
