I have a new (last fall) KitchenAid purchased at Sears and I love it. Not the priciest model (less than a thousand) but it is SO quiet. And dishes always come out perfect. I use the Cascade Complete brand packets..no powder to spill..and they do a great job.

I have a Maytag and it has had many recalls. The older ones are much better. If you want a good quiet one that does the job well I'd go to Sears. That was the best I ever had and I don't really shop at sears a lot

Get a quiet one that really cleans the stuff left on the silverware or the dishes.

Bosch has a model that is VERY, VERY quiet and it has gotten great reviews in the "Consumer Reports" magazine. I don't know the model number of the new model. There is never any food stuck on the dishes and I sometimes leaves dishes in the dishwasher 4-5 days!! Highly recommend but it's between $800 - $1000 (I'm a firm believer in "you get what you pay for") - good luck!1

I had a GE and had nothing but trouble with it. We are on our 2nd Maytag Dishwasher!-not because the other one quit but because I gave it to my grandmother. We were given one by my dad that was moving-it was less than a year old. The one we had was at least 10 years old and still going!!!! Our dishwashers have been used a minimum of 1 time per day! We have 5 children and when the twins were born my DH bought our portable Maytag Dishwasher. It NEVER had any problems! Like I said I just gave it to my grandmother and used it the day that my uncle came and picked it up for her. :) So, over 10 years of use and it cost about $400! I think it was WELL worth it. So, my step Mom knew that we had the portable one and ask me what kind she should get. When I told her how long we had the dishwasher she was sold. She knows my kids go through a lot of dishes! LOL ;) |
Whoops, sorry double post.

Write down all these reviews, and also check out Consumer Reports. Our whole family uses it as a guide and are happy with it.
From what others seem to agree with on this forum, is that the lower priced ones aren't worth buying in the long run. Something with all that technology has to cost a lot more than the lowest ones, but will pay for itself over the years. |
My husband LOL....and Kitchen Aid --so quiet....

I have a Jennair and love it..stainless inside and out..quiet and very clean dishes! I had a Bosch in my previous home and loved it, too.
