Whew you go girl. That's alot of canning in 1 day. Wish I had some of those tomatoes. Ours never did make good after the first few. to much rain and too hot, even the cucumbers did bad.Good thing there's stuff left from last years garden. Mary

Yes Mary I am in the same boat, having to buy canned veggies this year. My garden did not do well at all this year.

I have beans, peas and corn in the freezer..I made 7 dozen jars of fig preserves and fig jam...The fig jam also makes a wonderful cake...

This year I put up 24 pts. of tomato salsa. My dh grew everything that went in to it. Also 8 qts. of tomatoes.
In years past I've put up beets, carrots and green beans.
My Dh has a green thumb and has a large garden, he grows all sorts of yummy veggies for us to eat. Here's a few pictures for you to enjoy.

We just harvested a 1.5 bushel laundry basket full of cayenne, banana and anaheim peppers yesterday. We've
also got a good crop of bell peppers in red, yellow and green.

what are you going to do with them? You said you had made salsa didnt you?

purplefiend 11-01-2010 11:38 AM

I made salsa during the summer. We gave away most this harvest's hot peppers, just too many for us. I was hoping that the tomato bushes would continue to produce, but they didn't.
