You should have a county Public Health where you live. They serve people without insurance. Get in touch with them and have a check up. Hope you get well.

Look you need to take care of yourself. Call 911 they have to take you. Glad you are better. Please don't take any chance with your health. :shock:

The TIA's can be very scary, but in many cases no lasting results, thankfully. I think they can be brought on by stress (notice I say "I think") that's just from witnessing my elderly aunt have to experience these things. She would try to pick something up & crash...onto the floor it went...the Dr. said bring her in immediately....I did....more than 2 hours later he finally had time to look at her....by then....alot of the weakness had disappeared. It's scary but.... many years later when she passed, it had nothing to do with the mini strokes (TIA)

Not if it's a stroke. Strokes are bleeding in the brain, and if you thin the blood with asprin, you're going to have more issues.

oh, hosta, I feel for you - no ins. Its hard to get a straight ans from a dr w/o ins, even in an er. You really do need to find out what happened - this is so not normal. Did this ever happen before??, did it evern happen to anyone on your side of the family?? Is there someone to be with you at home, so youre not there alone?? are you moving around ok, walking, holding things, do you feel "odd" when you wake up, or thru the day or at the end of the day??
write notes, very simple bullets so when you can get to a dr you can read everything and give him a copy and tell him to pls keep it w/ your chart. sharet

There are two types of stroke.
One is from bleeding and the other is from a blood clot.
Get the correct treatment.

Sounds like something that could be serious. I agree with the others to go to the ER or call a local clinic to see if they have a sliding scale system where they will rate how much your visit will be. I think you need to be seen by a neurologist asap. Take care and let us know how you are doing.

Glassquilt is correct about strokes. My husband had a stroke when he was 40 and it was a ruptured blood vessel. However, after rupturing, it formed a clot so he will be on an aspirin daily for the rest of his life. Fortunately, he recovered probably 98% and only has problems with cognition (finding the right words or understanding written directions). My hubby just turned 56. I worked at a hospital at that time doing transcription but had seen enough to know we needed to get to the hospital quickly.

Oh my goodness. So sorry this happened. Do you have migraines? This has happened to my nephew and he has suffered from migraines his whole life. He has had this happen to him several times but I don't think they lasted for as long a time as yours. I will ask him.
