we went too Maryland to my son's for a week I went to bed with a headache on Monday and don't remember anything for the next three days. My husband said I was talking all weird dropping things they made me use a sippy cup cause I kept dropping cups. after three days I started remembering the day but it was off and on. went to the dr when we got home he said he couldn't do any tests because we have no insurance but I had no symptoms of a stroke. I still have no memory of anything of those three days. Has this ever happened to any of you?

I know the same thing happened to my grandmother when she was having trouble regulating her blood pressure. I think it happened when the doctor was trying to figure out the right combo/dose of meds for her. I hope the doc at least checked your blood pressure.

Wow it does sound like you had a transient ischemic attack (TIA). The fact that it lasted 3 days is very scary. Is there some county health clinic you can go to? It is possible this can be helped by medication. If it should happen again, they should take you to an ER while it happens and not wait for 3 days. Insurance or not, you can end up severely disabled.

Something like that happened to my friend and hers was a mild stroke.

Morning, have never had your problem, thankfully. Do not know what your health system is like but surely your doctor could have done blood tests etc on you. Has your parents/siblings ever had major health problems in the past? I really feel that you need more investigation about what caused this glitch in your life.

I'm sorry this happened to you. I always have strange quirks that happen to me and then they clear up on their own and no one can explain them.
Do go the ER the next time this happens.

Glad you're feeling better now, but please, please, please don't ever wait if this happens again. As a matter of fact, have someone call 911 right away. If you go to an ER on an ambulance, you go to the front of the line, especially with symptoms like what you described. Treat first, ask questions later. All hospitals are obligated by law to evaluate, treat, and stabilize you, regardless of your insurance status. A private hospital will then try to transfer you to a public facility if you have no insurance. Public hospitals all have indigent funds, or will work with you on reducing your bill to something you can afford, or setting up a payment plan at the very least. Your health is too important to just wait and see what happens. I don't mean to scare you, but you were lucky this time. If you look around, you can find a facility with a Partners in Prevention program which provides, free of charge, routine health and screening services for women with no insurance or who are unable to pay. Please explore these options!!!
