And did you read it to your children? (I did... that was quite a while ago!)
Quilting Treasures is coming out with a line of fabrics based on the book, and I was wondering if there would be much interest in it. Here's a picture of the project that goes with this collection. They don't have instructions available yet, but they say the finished size of the quilt is 41" x 49". It would be interesting to know if young mothers are still reading this book to their little ones? |
I don't know about young mothers but I read that book at least a million times to my children when they were little. Great memories, great book.

i used to work for a book store until very recently. good night moon was a very good seller. i think it will do well.

Goodnight Moon is in my schools classrooms. Still an all time favorite. I would love to do that quilt!
still in the scholastics book clubs
I would love to make that quilt for my daughter's classroom. How fun!!!!
My granddauhters love it, too!
Wow - I often give expectant mom's I know a copy of this book. When I was pregnant my husband would read the book to my tummy EVERY NIGHT so the baby would get to know his voice. Still know it by heart - it was both my boys favorite!
I have the book and the dvd of Goodnight Moon. I read it to my granddaughter. She loves it!
I think it is still very popular. A shower gift of this quilt, and the book, would be so cool.
I don't k now about young mothers except for my daughter and Yes, she will read it to Dakota at times. and I even have one here at my house to read to him some.
Both our girls loved it and I am hoping our grandson will as well. |
Yep read to my kids 25+ yrs ago!!
bought one for each of my great neices for baby showers. It would have been neat to make a quilt too.
i read it to my boys and now read it to all my preschoolers every year
I know that book well. I have several copies in my classroom.
Always a good story.
It was one of my son's favorites.
I still have that book in my home library. I don't have any grandchildren yet but I would make that quilt to have on hand to cuddle up in when (hopefully someday) grandma is reading you a story.
That is funny I just pulled it off the shelf for my grandson today!!
Well, I can't wait to get the fabric. We are big "Goodnight Moon" fans...perfect quilt for new gb.
See if you can sell the book in your shop right along side the grouping. If someone is unaware of the book they will have a chance to give it a read and buy a book with thier fabric!
I read this to my grandson just the other night

Love reading that book to the kids.....
I would be interested in making a wall hanging of it... just for old times sake |
My son and I loved that book. We read a lot when he was small and I can still hear him 'reading' it to me.
Think I loved it even more than the kids!!
This thread makes me smile because my nickname on a particular stock chat board called CMKX, was Moonshadow and when we all signed off every night they would tell me "Goodnight, Moon". :^)
Yes :D:D:D
We quote parts of it to my grands every night at bedtime too :D:D:D I would LOVE to get some of this fabric!! |
I am going to buy that book for my new granddaughter expected to arrive mid Sept.
Absolutely thumbsup
Hugs April |
I am waiting with baited breath for this fabric!! Need to add it to my childrens book collection fabric. Have a brand new copy of the book, too for my soon to be born granddaughter!
I think it's a classic and a wonderful baby book - I sure hope moms are still reading it to their babies. I'd make a quilt with it and give the book too.
still read that book to my kids. I think that would be a good seller as that is a very popular book still. I think of of the best sellers....in kids books.
My son is almost 3 and I read it to him a few times a week. We go between Good Night Moon and Goodnight, Sleepyhead. I've been reading Good Night Moon to him since he was a couple of months old. He is now beginning to point out more and more things in the room. It is a great book.
Loved the book when the kids were samll. They would point their fingers at everything. There was another book out that was a good one also but I can't think of the name.
Ok, not a young mother here but my little ones like the book... :)
I have seen it available to buy in bookstores. I think it is still a good book.
The hospital where one of our great grandchildren was born puts a copy of the book in the "new mother gift pack", every mother receives one. piecefully, the old one
I read this to my sons and now to my grandchildren. They love this book!
