And did you read it to your children? (I did... that was quite a while ago!)

Quilting Treasures is coming out with a line of fabrics based on the book, and I was wondering if there would be much interest in it.

Here's a picture of the project that goes with this collection. They don't have instructions available yet, but they say the finished size of the quilt is 41" x 49".

It would be interesting to know if young mothers are still reading this book to their little ones?

I don't know about young mothers but I read that book at least a million times to my children when they were little. Great memories, great book.

mcdaniel023 07-01-2011 01:43 PM

mcdaniel023 07-01-2011 01:43 PM

My granddauhters love it, too!

SharBear 07-01-2011 01:48 PM

Wow - I often give expectant mom's I know a copy of this book. When I was pregnant my husband would read the book to my tummy EVERY NIGHT so the baby would get to know his voice. Still know it by heart - it was both my boys favorite!

Janetlmt 07-01-2011 01:59 PM

I have the book and the dvd of Goodnight Moon. I read it to my granddaughter. She loves it!

quilt1950 07-01-2011 02:01 PM

I think it is still very popular. A shower gift of this quilt, and the book, would be so cool.

LAQUITA 07-01-2011 02:01 PM

I don't k now about young mothers except for my daughter and Yes, she will read it to Dakota at times. and I even have one here at my house to read to him some.
Both our girls loved it and I am hoping our grandson will as well.

Painiacs 07-01-2011 02:04 PM

Yep read to my kids 25+ yrs ago!!

great aunt jacqui 07-01-2011 02:13 PM

bought one for each of my great neices for baby showers. It would have been neat to make a quilt too.

wvhill22 07-01-2011 02:25 PM

i read it to my boys and now read it to all my preschoolers every year

QuiltMania 07-01-2011 02:34 PM

I know that book well. I have several copies in my classroom.

sewgull 07-01-2011 02:47 PM

Always a good story.

Hen3rietta 07-01-2011 02:50 PM

It was one of my son's favorites.

lalaland 07-01-2011 02:54 PM

I still have that book in my home library. I don't have any grandchildren yet but I would make that quilt to have on hand to cuddle up in when (hopefully someday) grandma is reading you a story.

Up North 07-01-2011 02:55 PM

That is funny I just pulled it off the shelf for my grandson today!!

emerald46 07-01-2011 02:59 PM

Well, I can't wait to get the fabric. We are big "Goodnight Moon" fans...perfect quilt for new gb.

MZStitch 07-01-2011 03:16 PM

See if you can sell the book in your shop right along side the grouping. If someone is unaware of the book they will have a chance to give it a read and buy a book with thier fabric!

lovequilts 07-01-2011 03:25 PM

I read this to my grandson just the other night

Love reading that book to the kids.....
I would be interested in making a wall hanging of it...
just for old times sake

OHSue 07-01-2011 03:47 PM

My son and I loved that book. We read a lot when he was small and I can still hear him 'reading' it to me.

Kitsie 07-01-2011 04:05 PM

Think I loved it even more than the kids!!

lfw045 07-01-2011 04:07 PM

This thread makes me smile because my nickname on a particular stock chat board called CMKX, was Moonshadow and when we all signed off every night they would tell me "Goodnight, Moon". :^)

amma 07-01-2011 04:26 PM

Yes :D:D:D
We quote parts of it to my grands every night at bedtime too :D:D:D

I would LOVE to get some of this fabric!!

mamaw 07-01-2011 05:07 PM

I am waiting with baited breath for this fabric!! Need to add it to my childrens book collection fabric. Have a brand new copy of the book, too for my soon to be born granddaughter!

SueSew 07-01-2011 05:34 PM

I think it's a classic and a wonderful baby book - I sure hope moms are still reading it to their babies. I'd make a quilt with it and give the book too.

lheartsl 07-01-2011 05:41 PM

still read that book to my kids. I think that would be a good seller as that is a very popular book still. I think of of the best sellers....in kids books.

AFQSinc 07-01-2011 07:17 PM

My son is almost 3 and I read it to him a few times a week. We go between Good Night Moon and Goodnight, Sleepyhead. I've been reading Good Night Moon to him since he was a couple of months old. He is now beginning to point out more and more things in the room. It is a great book.

SueDor 07-01-2011 07:34 PM

Loved the book when the kids were samll. They would point their fingers at everything. There was another book out that was a good one also but I can't think of the name.

luvnquilt 07-01-2011 08:16 PM

Ok, not a young mother here but my little ones like the book... :)

nlgh 07-01-2011 08:22 PM

I have seen it available to buy in bookstores. I think it is still a good book.

the old one 07-02-2011 03:02 AM

The hospital where one of our great grandchildren was born puts a copy of the book in the "new mother gift pack", every mother receives one. piecefully, the old one

Nanamoms 07-02-2011 03:51 AM

I read this to my sons and now to my grandchildren. They love this book!
