My kids (and grandkids) have gotten me into it. I have one problem though. I was an English major in college and I just can't bring myself to use all those shortened words. To me it is constant misspelling.

No. Never will either if I can help it.

People will think I'm out of my mind, but here goes....I don't even own a cell phone! Yes, I know, I'm probably the last person on earth without one (happily)!

NO!!!

I do text, especially DD who is very good about sending me pics of what's happening at their house every week. It's so much easier than using the computer for short messages.

I do...with the DGD's and my daughter....daughter will not answer her phone. Only response with a text (she is on phone all day with her job and hates talking at night when home...don't blame her)....

We have trac phone also and it is MUCH cheeper to text than call on it. Uses like.3 units vx 1 unit.

I usually send my son text from the computer. Almost all cell plans have an extention that you can use to text from the computer. It is the only way my son will reply. And like others have said it is less disrupting than a phone call

quilter41 02-24-2011 02:00 PM

No. Would you believe I don't know how?

I have 2 daughters (36 and 26) and teenage grandkids...so, yes, I do text. Not only to them, but also my sister and my dear friend in CO.

It's not as hard as you think. Give it a try!! :-)
