I'm still in the dark ages when it comes to this stuff. I barely know how to use my basic cell phone. I had them fix it so I couldn't text or take pictures...I was tired of taking pictures of the bottom of my purse   . I'm always getting calls saying I'm eligible for a new phone...no thanks. The less frills, the better.

Is this somewhat generational?

I can sooo relate! I did the same thing...I had them disable the texting and pictures and I refuse to get the "free" upgrade on a more fancy-schmancy phone that they keep trying to shove down my throat.

I text alot. I can always communicate with DH even when he's in a meeting. Also with both DS, friends and sister. I love my smartphone. Use it to make my grocery list and that way I always have grocery list with me. Also keep other reminders on there in case I happen to stop on the way home for something, I can look at my phone to see if I need anything else at that store.

I text LOTS and LOTS but have a fairly basic phone. You don't have to get a high dollar phone to text. I don't even have any of the internet charges and I text all the time. Check out the Cosmos phone. I think thats what its called.

constantly

Yes, I do. It is quick, simple and non-intrusive. I can text my DH when he is in a conference or a mtg and know that he will eventually get back to me. That way I am not interrupting by calling to just be saying hi or asking him a fairly dumb question. I text quickly on a daily basis with my kids off at college, as well. I do NOT text when I am teaching nor when I am driving.

I do - easy way to keep in touch with my three daughters. I find they respond to texts much faster than emails :-)

I agree -- my kids will immediately respond to texting. Funny how we Mom's figure these things out, huh?! lol
