Hi, I'm 61 and have had two surgeries for this problem. Same old story, 3 c.sections, total abd. hysterectomy therefore.....
First surgery worked for only about 2 yrs. Second surgery was what's called a pubo-vaginal sling. It was done by my gynecologist about 7 years ago and to date is still successful. Recovery was not bad. Out of work for 2 weeks then just taking it easy with lifting. Good luck. |

I may not be of much help, altho I had the surgery for a fallen bladder. I also had some female surgery at the same time. So, they kept me in the hospital for 5 days, came home, and was home for 3 weeks before going back to work part time.
I was 61 when I had the surgeries, so suppose that had something to do with it. I would say it was worth it to have the surgery. As we age, we have enough new problems along all of the time without having to deal with that. Think you will be glad you had it. I see you are from New Mexico. I was born there--in Springer. Have been back a few times. My Dad was a Rancher and worked in the Gold Mine. What do you know about Springer now, if anything? I would be interested, if you know anything. I wish I had talked to other women before I had the surgery. No one I know that has had it is happy with it. I wear more pads now than I did when I was a teenager.

Having it done was the best decision I could have made. I had it done at the same time as my hysterectomy. I would have it done again and again. Recovery was a piece of cake. I did get a UTI after surgery, from what I hear is pretty common. I started walking same day I had surgery and gradually increased the distance. If you have it done, you won't regret it.

just do it it's wonderful it gives u a freedom u never had before up and about in a day
