I love flip flops! I have 2 pair that I bought at Gander Mountain for about 10/12 dollars. They cost more but your feet are worth it. They are Columbia brand and I got a youth size 5 which is about the same as a 6/7 womens. They are very comfortable and I would buy more of them but couldn't find them this year. I can't wear flip flops with the plastic or rubber straps as they rub my skin off. These have a sturdy fabric type of strap. Sketchers and Airwalk make good ones too.

I love flip flops, but my feet are pretty tender so I stick with the "better" ones. I love Fit Flops, Sketchers and Yellow Box...they are well made and very comfy!

Try Sketchers or Joe Boxer (cheaper than Sketchers) but they both have the kind with the "ribbon" strap between the toes which is very comfortable and have never had a problem with the part where it goes into the sole. Also, they have a thicker, more comfortable base to walk on. Love them and hate to put regular shoes back on in the fall. LOL

I too live in mine...love em, love em, love em...I have had a pair that has done as you describe...not all flips do that..try a pair from Wally World (walmart) and see if it still happens...

Never wear them. Tried them once. Just my opinion, but my take on them is they are bad for your feet. No support whatsoeever. I hate to see children with them because their feet are growing and need proper support so they don't have problems later. Guess they are popular because they can be cheap "shoes".

I have a pair that's very comfortable. Its from the men's shoe section at Target, they have cloth straps. I think they were about $10, course they don't make them anymore.

The really cheap ones are horrid things that hurt my feet.

I wear mine until the snow is accumulating!

I tried to make them and couldn't get the fabric tied correctly on the bottom of the "shoe". So - I used a button that was just a bit bigger than the hole (so it wouldn't pull through). Worked like magic! And comfy too!

I just made a pair and used a button on the sole as well. They are amazing! The fit with fabric lessens the noise made when walking too!

Prefer flip flops to regular sandals

This may sound weird to some folks but it works. Within the last year I developed a very painful callus on the ball of my foot below the small toe- walking sewing etc all hurt. Finally had it and took the Peddiipaws grinder to it. If I take the build up down regularily it doesn't hurt. May seem wierd but it works even on rough heals- heck it's just a version of those manual gringers you rub your feet with until you can't stand it
