I hang my fitted sheet on a pant hanger to help eliminate wrinkles.

gosh  , I've never given much thought to folding sheets.
(don't tell but I have one set--yes, you heard it right--and I wash them and put them right back on the bed---then you don't have to fold ever  ) |
I fold mine but the fitted ones with elastic all the way around are the pits to try to fold neatly!

Ever so long ago when I was a new bride, I carefully opened a package of sheets to see how they managed to all of that fabric into such a small package. That is how I learned to fold the fitted bottom sheets. In general just tuck all of the corners into each other, square it up by folding in the "drop" and fold in again and again until it is the size you want it to be for stacking in your cupboard.
Bottom line, I always fold linens. Sometimes I have changed the final size of the sheets or towels to accommodate the size of the shelf or cupboard. |

Mine go right back on the bed. I do have an extra set that are folded and stored in a pillow case. I don't need tons of sheets any more, so it is easier just to put them back on the bed.

In the summer when I hang my laundry outside I fold the sheets as I take them off of the line and I do the same thing in the winter when I hang them in the basement. I don't put them in the dryer. They go right back on the bed. Only have two sets.
For the fitted sheets as I take them off of the line I fold the bottom up and pin to the line and then undo the clothes pin and fold them in half as I undo the next clothes pin. |
oh yeah you just sleep better on lined dry :-D

Hi Gunny,
Granny sprinkled water on the pieces to be ironed because they were starched! Remember doing that meself. My girls used to have those frilly gathered dresses with the long tie to make bows that had to be starched, sprinkled and ironed! Sooooo glad I don't have to iron sheets or little girl dresses anymore; but with GGrandDau I probably would not mind, did not mind doing it for her mother. |
