Beautiful. Thank you for sharing.

gorgeous--you should use it to design an applique quilt. ('ve ne er seen on and would have guessed a moth, too.

This is a bit repetitive. Someone has already id'd it, but I thought this info from "What's that bug" was interesting Your Polyphemus Moth, Antheraea polyphemus, belongs to the same Family as the Luna Moth. Both are Saturnids or Giant Silkworm Moths. Caterpillars eat leaves from many deciduous trees and adults do not feed, living only a few days to mate and reproduce.

I am always amazed at the beautiful creatures we share our planet with. Every one of them have a specific purpose.

I Love butterflies. The very first quilt I made, when I was still in high school (many, MANY years ago!!) was a butterfly baby quilt...brings back memories....thanks!!

That's the name I couldn't remember! THANK YOU! We had one a couple years ago here in Maine. He was on my Hibiscus on the deck inside the screen porch. Don't know how he got in and don't know how he got out when he left several days later. I should say he/she. Don't know which or if both.
