Fratcat, In my part of Texas, many of us wonder what the idea behind the mosquito was.

What you have here is a Luna Moth. You are very blessed to have seen one. They do not live long after they are fully out. They have no mouths and cannot eat. They just lay their eggs and pass on. I had one here a few years ago. I hope to see another one. I am sure that it laid eggs here somewhere since they don't go very far but have not seen any more around that hatched.

We call those moths in my part of the country. It is beautiful.
