That was fun - - - -

Just got one of those "Can you hear me?" calls -

I said "No, can you speak a little louder, please?"

Click - end of call.

(I know - don't answer the phone - but it has been a very slow day here!)

I answer my phone too. There aren't that many junk calls, and sometimes they are entertaining. Sometimes I don't recognize the name on the caller ID but it turns out to be someone I do need to talk to.

Today I got a call where a recorded voice told me I was the only one on the conference call. I hung up; end of conference. Yesterday I had one where a man with a very deep voice (they always choose someone with a deep voice) started out by telling me I am harder to reach than the top of Mt. Everest. I didn't laugh or respond. He then said he was from a police group. I told him I didn't believe a thing he said and hung up.

I have stopped a lot of useless time wasting calls by lifting receiver for a second or two then hanging up. They never call back.

We just un-plugged the home phone today. Every time we tried to nap...one ringie-dingie. The important people in our lives have our cell numbers.

“Can you hear me”. The caller is recording your response and using your voice saying yes to use for their gains

I just got a notice today, that in my area an older person got took for $100,000!!! I don't have that much to be scamed out of, but WOW! The article went on to say for those of us who answer then "play" with the caller, the caller is recording your voice so they can patch together the answers they need to do whatever mischief they are intent on. I have caller ID and do not answer to any unknown number. This just makes it more important now days.

My granddaughter called after an accident. She had a broken nose so she didn't sound like herself.

Not only do I not have grandchildren, but my granddaughter had an Indian accent.

Her brother called me a few weeks later - same accident. Too funny.
