my auntie had a john dear that she just loved an I know she had it for I know around fifteen yrs before she sold it when she moved to florida 24yrs ago.an it wasn't like the ones you get now days with all the fibroglass covers it was ninety% metal
an could cut grass like you wouldn't believe.an it had a yearly check up every year.anwhen she sold it it worked just as good as it did the day she bought it.i would like to find one like that.it sure would make mowing a whole lot easier.

i do have a scroll saw an love it i make some of my templets I use with it out of plexie glass an then sand edges so they are smooth.

that's a good idea. My husband makes mine on his Shopsmith and then sands them. I never thought to use the scroll saw. He does beautiful work with it tho, but I had to laugh when he got excited to show me my new toy!
