I went to two of these so-called bra fitting specialists for extra-well-endowed people.
My experiences were definitely in the bah! humbug! waste of money! category. They didn't have the proper size, and like an idiot, I bought what they had "on hand" Won't do that again. I don't have backaches, I am lopsided, and I don't want to have surgery. My cups do, indeed, runneth over. And I have gotten a lot of laughs out of this thread! |
I use to wear under wire they were less uncomfortable and they had more support but since surgery 5 yrs ago All bra's hurt with or w/o a wire So now I wear mens under shirts -the tank top kind -I buy a small cause its tighter fitting and if my strap shows while wearing a ladies tank top its not considered gawdy -and in the winter I stay warmer then I ever did wearing a long-john shirt

Boy, as I sit here with mine cutting into my shoulders, I can sure sympathize. I am large on top, and have never found one that didn' hurt somewhere. Either the straps or the bottom band, etc. But I keep looking.

Had to follw this thread all the way through - lol!
I too am well-endowed. I actually fly out to Edmonton to visit my daughter and while there invest in one or two bras at Dawn's Bratique. (I have them note which bras fit me best so I can phone and order another when my daughter & SIL come at Christmas!) These bras range from $89 to almost $240 - BUT I can wear them for years! Just retired the first bras I bought there 5 years ago. My favourite brand: PrimaDonna and I used to love Olga but my favourite style was discontinued. Go get properly fitted - and don't leave till you LOVE the fit. Then buy/order 2 or 3 and rotate wearing and washing. |
Forgot to say - I'm 42H

Yes, my daughter sent me 2 from Switzerland without fitting they were astonishing perfect and beautiful lacy, I was so glad and surprised.

If anyone could make a bra that conforms to every shape, has lots of support and doesn't ride up, they would be RICH, RICH RICH!!!!!! (OH YES AND IS comfortable!) I read this thread in hopes of discovering the miracle bra!!

The best bra is one that remains in the drawer...but alas, I'm not that brave.
