I love underwires. I have had great luck with a couple of styles at Lane Bryant (Cacique). Wonderful support.

Dear adorabowe, so what brand was the one that most larger busted women liked? Is it available in the U.S.? Thanks

Comfortable bra must surely be a contradiction in terms.
Le Mysterie (sp?) is the closest I've ever come to comfortable, but at $85.00 too much to invest in a drawer full and I like most take it off as soon as I hit the door each day anyway.

My thoughts exactly.

I always go to a specialist bra shop and get fitted, as each make is different. They are not cheap, but I get long wear out of them.

I wear a mastectomy bra. No, I still have both of mine, but a friend said they were so comfortable. I can't get my arms back to fasten one, so these hook both front and back, I use the front hooks. They are the most comfortable I have ever worn. No riding up or straps slipping down. They stay put where I put them. If I have to wear one, this is it for me. Check them out at a pharmacy. My friend's husband is a pharmacist.

I think I'll have breast reduction surgery then burn my bras! Wouldn't that be liberating?

I have been wearing underwire since I was 14, well-endowed (thanks, Mom). Why can't they figure out how to keep the wires from poking out through the fabric eventually? Here's an idea - don't give them pointy ends!! How many hours have I spent trying to repair and sew patches to get a few more months of wear out of it. Never works. Now I just take the wires out when it gets to that point and wear them around the house.
We live in a rural area so I don't wear one unless we are going out or I am expecting company.

I do have one, brand name Chantelle, that is quite comfortable.

I also like Balis and have experienced good customer service. When a wire broke in half they sent me a new bra.

I am trying the new bra from Playtex that claims the straps want fall off your shoulders and IT WORKS! ! ! They are underwire but the most comfortable one I have ever worn. And have been wearing one for near 50 years.
