I had never seen HBB until a cousin came to stay a few days. She asked if we watched HBB. I didn't have a clue what she was talking about, so we turned it on. After about 10 minutes I turned it off it was so disgusting. As a mother I cannot imagine bringing up my child in this manner. The Bible says to raise up a child in the way he should go and they will not depart from it. and The love of money is the root of all evil......I guess for some money people will do anything. So sad for the babies born into this family.

Caswews 01-03-2013 05:58 AM

I am not into any of the reality shows- I prefer Discovery, Science Channel, or even SyFy to reality shows.. How many ways can 1 person have a tantrum and get away with it ? or be insulted in so many ways ?
So glad we are all unique in our own ways !LOL

I will admit to 'sneaking a peek" I couldn't watch much more than that. I raised 8 children, but in a 'gentler' time. Although it wasn't all love and good times, we got through.
I want to say, Sandy, I think you have great courage to say what you think in the face of so many oppisite opions. But that is what we are here for to share and not put one another down because of our differemces.
And as for whats on tv..... Can we get an all musical channel? LOL

stitchinwitch 01-03-2013 06:27 AM

.hmmmmmm...remember when Roseanne Barr first started her show??? It ended it being the most successful weekly for a long time!....

I must admit, I watch it........complaining the entire time in between my ...ughs...oh no......awful!!....It must be like watching a train wreck. In reality, they are disfunctional too, but they are HAPPY disfuntional---hmm does THAT make a difference?? 'don't know..... To ME, The multi-billion $$ K family is MUCH worse--values? HA! none! Are there ANY families that are a positive example for the next generation??? Oh, other than money being the root of all evil, how about POWER??? That is the real culprit!

BellaBoo 01-03-2013 07:07 AM

Sad that so many young people are the ones watching these shows that dumb down traditional family values and lifestyles.

New knee 01-03-2013 07:16 AM

There was a TV show for a few weeks, showing this child's family. They lived in a small town in Georgia and it was an embarrassment to those of us who live in Georgia. That family is not typical of Georgians!! The whole thing was trashy, trashy.

grannyp70 01-03-2013 07:23 AM

Boy do I ever agree with lillybeck, I just don't know how they can put such a horriable thing as this on national TV. The kids nowadays already have no respect for their parents or anyone else. My kids also know what to say to me or around me. How disrespectful this show is. Boy I have only watched about 2 minutes of this horriable thing and turned the TV and will never watch it again.

Grace MooreLinker 01-03-2013 09:17 AM

Glad I'm not the only one that thinks it is disgusting how they have this child act like this. glad I can turn my TV when she comes on.

I soo agree with all of you, I fear for our country with garbage like her!!!

stitchhart 01-03-2013 09:38 AM

I agree with all of you, I find nothing funny about her or her family!!!

I ask that question all the time about the Kardashians. Who are they, where did they come from, and what makes them so news worthy?? Just a couple of weeks ago I saw an interview with Tom Brokaw. I think he is a highly respected news person by everyone in the business. Although he periodically shows up on NBC programs, he's retired. Someone asked him if he was sorry he retired. He replied "Absolutely not. It's not what it used to be. When I saw Kim Kardashian at the White House Correspondants Dinner I knew I didn't belong there anymore."

brendaln 01-03-2013 12:11 PM

I agree with the other posts. This is not a good way to portray a young girl. Hopefully no one lets their children watch this. People must be really bored to be watching this kind of exploration of a small girl who has been taught to be totally obnoxious.

Saw part of this show once, their dining table was surrounded by stacks of toilet paper, the child is obnoxious, father looks like BO Plenty from the old Dick Tracy comics and mother thinks she's gorgeous, what a horrible show. Does all this chatter mean it's back for another season. Oh. Please keep those Law and Order reruns on.

I guess I criticized without any real knowledge, because I have NEVER watched HBB or the little girl beauty contests. But I formed my opinions from the advertising bits on tv--they're on almost every 30 minutes! I can't get to the mute or off button fast enough!!

Remember when reality was a ball game or a movie???
Im53, but my fav shows are b&w movies.
Different strokes for diff folks. My husband, who is
Educated, loves jerry springer. Its his relaxation before going to sleep.

karate lady 01-03-2013 06:19 PM

what happened to child labor laws? I refuse to watch this. Have just seen the blurbs that advertise it and that is enough for me to know I would never watch such garbage....

karate lady 01-03-2013 06:36 PM

Reality shows are not reality. they have to be scripted or we would watch some days in thier lives with them doing nothing. How real is it when there is a camera crew watching you. Please give me credit for some intelligence. I do like the CSI and NCIS shows. Not for the violence, but for the way science is used to solve the crimes.

Pilgrim 01-03-2013 06:45 PM

I think it shows how "sick" our society is. I just turn to another channel, watch PBS, or turn it off.

I'm with you. The old TV shows are better than all the garbage that passes for entertainment today. I much prefer to watch quilting videos on the internet.

Maybe she likes the attention and Maybe they agreed to do the show to improve their future. They now enough money to buy a new home or at least to upgrade what they now have. I have only watched half of an episode because it is not to my liking. Roseanne Bar waw equilly annoying and she is still being rerun. Any why are people called trailer trash. many people go to warmer climates in the winter and live in campers trailers and trailers called park Models they are hardly trailer trash most that can afford to live in these type of places have an decent amount of money to winter in Az and Florida. I have lived in 3 diffrent mobile homes and have drove an 18wheeler does that make me trucking trailer trash?

deedum 01-03-2013 08:37 PM

I would rather turn the tv off completely than to watch that. We have drop our standards in this country and tv has certainly done it share of helping with this. I find it very disgusting.

ShabbyTabby 01-04-2013 12:25 AM

I think the parents should be horsewhipped. And as for the child, she is disrespectful and disgusting. I saw the show once and once was more than enough for me. So much of what is on TV today is just plain TRASH. I enjoy a good movie, the detective shows (NCIS, Law and Order SVU, Blue Bloods, etc. ) and the cooking and Home shows.

I'm with you Sassy. I've lived in a mobile home for going on 13 years since my husband died and it's right next to my daughter. I also consider myself a proud redneck. You know the term 'redneck' comes from the fact that farmers necks got sunburned from being out in the sun working.

QKO 01-04-2013 10:34 AM

I've never actually watched the show. I saw a commercial for it once. Halfway through the commercial I felt my brain being turned to mush and leaking out, so I quickly changed the station...

Sandygirl 01-06-2013 05:10 PM

They are saving the money. 15K per episode. Just saw this on Yahoo.

Isn't that a shame to put a show like that on TV.
And what about the 15 year old having a baby. And they don't see anything wrong with it.
Where were the Mother and Father? and they thought it was funny when she was in labor.
And Dad took Mom to a hamburger shop for their anniversary.
And yes they are laughing all the way to the bank.
Did you see that sick Turkey she cooked for thanksgiving??
I'm sorry I could go on fore ever.

Really don't care how they found her or where! Our TV goes off when she is on.

skowron5 01-07-2013 06:07 AM

I watched it a few times when it first came one. Last night I watched a few minutes. The girls are so filthy mouthed and rude to their parents. It's nice that the money is being put away, but it won't be spent wisely when they are 21 if they don't get some help on manners now.
