Today at 4 pm it was 108 at our home in Wichita. My DD lives in Phoenix where it was only 92. Something is backwards here. Even the honeysuckle is wilted.

blueangel 06-08-2011 03:47 PM

I know what you mean. It is way too hot for June.

craftybear 06-08-2011 03:47 PM

Hot in central Indiana today 94 degrees

I have my blinds closed at all windows, ceiling fans on and run the a/c just a little

Does that mean July and August will be tolerable???

Sadiemae 06-08-2011 03:53 PM

It is really making me nervous, what will happen to our weather next???

Nanamoms 06-08-2011 04:00 PM

Hot, hot too!! Was in low 90s. Last week over 100. My AC went out last week and I had to go to my son's to stay. It's suppose to be fixed tomorrow but had to wait until son could find someone who would give me a "deal". We had thunderstorms last night and suppose to again tonight. UGH...way too hot for June!

jbud2 06-08-2011 05:36 PM

It was HOT here in south central PA too! Spent the time in the pool since the power was out for an hour or so.

lheartsl 06-08-2011 05:43 PM

redquilter 06-08-2011 05:50 PM

Much too hot here today too and tomorrow will be worse. Yuck. I hate to think what August will be like.

gerswin 06-08-2011 06:03 PM

i would agree, although it has been over 100 this week every day. june is usually the hottest month here but its hotter than usual

Lori S 06-08-2011 06:19 PM

We are having 3 days of record breaking heat here..... Just when I was hoping to save a bit on A/C . But tommorrow they are saying we might have to turn on the heat!

my veggies are just withered on the vine..the plants won't grow, the blooms have died...it is just horrid...it was 108 here today as well..and windy..HOT wind is no fun....

lauriejo 06-08-2011 06:32 PM

Ya know we used to get weather in the 70's for at least part of the summer. It went from cold and rain for a month to the 90's. I have never lived in a home with ac, and quite frankly never minded until the last year or so. We used to only get a couple weeks a year of this weather.

Sandee 06-08-2011 06:37 PM

High today 99.2 here! Waiting for the cold front to come sometime tonight! 3 days of this in a row is enough!!

Izaquilter 06-08-2011 06:57 PM

I"m loving it! I turn my AC up so it doesn't kick on & I go outside to the pool. Spent the day out there today & hopefully part of the day tomorrow after I get the grass cut. I don't mind the hot weather since I have water to get into.

a/c just a little...oh no, mine was running most of the day and well into the night! I don't do heat and humidity very well at all!

hperttula123 06-08-2011 07:09 PM

We had 95 yesterday, today was 92 and it is down to 50 tonight. Crazy wisconsin weather. :( Had the air on all day and soon, the furnace will be kicking in.

Juliebelle 06-09-2011 02:45 AM

Here in NC too, in the upper 90's for the week and that is way too hot for June.

alleyoop1 06-09-2011 03:43 AM

Not only hot but dry. We need rain so badly while other parts of the country are literally drowning in too much rain.

hobbykat1955 06-09-2011 04:08 AM

Was in high 90's here in NY yesterday and again today. And lucky me is having a new roof put on the hse Monday so I need to get up in the attic and start sorting and covering all the stuff up there...Thank god we have one of those huge attic fans.

Becky Mc 06-09-2011 04:22 AM

And to think that just little over a month ago we were complaining it was cold. I hate 90+ here in Mi but after the cold long winter I will keep my mouth shut. I have no A/C in home or truck(broke to expensive to fix)just fans. Cold front came in last night high winds and lots of lightening and thunder very little rain but much cooler today 66 @ 8:30am cloudy. Much better.

Yooper32 06-09-2011 04:44 AM

I was hoping for at least two months break on the electric bill, between heat and cooling, but no such luck.

Abby'smom 06-09-2011 05:10 AM

yeah -- the rain keeps going around us although there has been a little rain in the area -- we are really dry, watering mainly bushes, fruit trees, and pot plants -- hope the grass will came back -- a neighbor claims that we live on an Indian burial ground and have offended the spirits since so many of the rains just go around us -- but it is hurricane season -- don't really want one or more of those, but it is so hot and dry here just north of Houston

great aunt jacqui 06-09-2011 05:14 AM

just try to stay cool, the only thing I'll be movig today is the presser foot.lol

jillnjo 06-09-2011 05:19 AM

Cooler this morning and rain. Sounds like a chance of some hail and wind this afternoon. I have worked so hard in my yard and I don't want it to be destroyed, but we'll deal with what comes.

Tommie

It was close to 100 here in SC, this past weekend..with no rain..Can not remember the last time it rained here and according to the weather channel its going to be quite a while before we do..

pocoellie 06-09-2011 05:53 AM

Wow!! We had rain, hail and snow one day last week, and the rest of the time, rain, and temps not above 60.

DebsShelties 06-09-2011 06:06 AM

It's already low 80's with humidity of 67% here today, supposed to get to mid 90's!
I prefer cooler temps.

donnaree59 06-09-2011 06:39 AM

It has been around 95+ here now for going on two weeks; they are predicting it through next week too. We have an 8" rain deficit. All the gardens are burning up... I can't imagine the price of vegetables if this keeps up. And, I also can't imagine what our real summer is going to be like (doesn't start until June 21). Anyone in Alaska want to adopt me for the summer???

Emma S 06-09-2011 06:42 AM

I know I'm not going to get much sympathy with everyone suffering so much from the heat but here in Oregon we've had record cold and rain. One day it got into the 70's but that is as high as it gotten. Last year was the same, we hardly had a summer. Wish we could average the temperatures and all be comfortable!

Becka 06-09-2011 06:42 AM

It's been in the 90's here for days, but they keep saying we haven't broken any records yet. There is a consistent strong breeze (mild wind?) that is a saver. It at least makes the shade tolerable if one must be outside.

Debra Mc 06-09-2011 06:45 AM

I am dreading August. DS is getting married in last of August & it is going to be hottier than hell. It is an outdoor wedding but not till 7:30 pm so maybe it will have cooled off a little. I could just kill him. Bride wanted Nov but no it will mess with our hunting season. God forbid we mess with a man's hunting season. Hope it is a short ceramony & we can hurry & get inside in the pavallion where there is AC. HaHa he has to wear a tux & tie.
Get this DSIL's sister said they had a blizzard in North Dakota last month. When she goes back home she is gonna be so messed up after being in Texas for a month.

mhansen6 06-09-2011 06:50 AM

Finally it was beautiful here. 68 and sunny. I am hoping we are finally getting into summer. I don't even have buds on my flowering trees yet. My daffodils are still blooming. It has been the worst Spring I can remember.

grannypat7925 06-09-2011 07:02 AM

Weather has been crazy all over! Just hang in there.......it keeps changing!

quiltinghere 06-09-2011 07:04 AM

I was in the basement all day yesterday because it was near 100 here.

Last night and today it's dark and raining cats and dogs and cows and sheep and only supposed to get to mid 60s.

nab 06-09-2011 07:07 AM

I'm sorry you are so hot. PLEASE do not send it to Montana. Right now we are 48 and rainy. Last week we had 2 days of 80's and that is 2 days too many for me. I hate the heat. We could though use a little sunshine. I do think Mother Nature has gone crazy. This is unusual weather for Montana. We do not get this much rain and stay this cool in June. I hope she gets over her "snit" soon. There are lots of people here that DO like hot weather. Maybe they would be less crabby if they got some. I'll just turn on the AC and stay in and quilt.

Well it was 108 here yesterday and expected to be that and higher the rest of the week and into next wee, with the low in Odessa,Tx. at 100. all week next week. It will definitely be hotter than 100 here I can promise.

mommafank 06-09-2011 07:19 AM

Hot high 90's to 100 here near Atlanta. No rain so garden and yard and flowers are suffering. Is this what the future holds?
