I have six & would not take anything for them. They just don't unerstand why they can't be around all the pretty fabric. LOL. :)

i'd be bold enough to say that at least 2/3 of quilters have a cat (or two, or more). I have 2. My baby is learning quilting without much training.

I have 4 now. Thumper, Hallie, Tasha and Ruby. Most of them love to be with me when i am sewing. They lay on the floor at my feet or Ruby loves to be in the middle of the fabric. I recently lost my Muffin who loved to sleep in the fabric in my plastic boxes where I keep each project. I miss having her always with me.

I have 4 hounds but no kitties.

Or 4? We have 4....plus 4 dogs. None of them go around my quilting stuff, except 1 cat that likes to sleep in the 2nd chair in the room. She doesn't go near any of my quilting stuff, though. Just the chair!

We have 2 cats: Maggie & Max. You can see them on my avatar. Maggie is the quiet one and Max, well Max is Max. He gets into trouble quite often.....But love them both....

I'm so allergic that it makes me cringe when I see pix of cats and dogs on quilts that are being made. I know some people love them so much that they don't mind but I just shiver.

I only have 5 right now. The oldest is KitKat who is very well-nourished long-haired tortie (black & orange), 2 brothers Snickers & Skittles (named deliberately until hubby put his foot down with the 1/2 himalayian kitten named Gunny (can't tell you how many times he was demoted to Private (yep, dh is a retired Marine) & then Misty Blue. Also 2 rescue dogs Dozer who is my constant companion & Punkin who technically belongs to ds but it is her opionion that she also belongs to me. The only cat who is a quilting buddy is Skittles. He is very involved in every aspect. The others could care less. Skittles also thinks he is a dog as he has to accompany me when I am out in the yard. He is also very mouthy esp. when he has found a comfortable spot & you move him!!

I have one kitty, well about 9 months old...Sam or Sammy Boy as my husband calls him (he never liked cats before Sam). I adopted him from the pound last July, at 6 to 8 weeks old. He's my baby.

cupcake, rocky road and muffin,
yes there was a theme going on, all our animals were named after food, imagine that, then we had a dog named peaches, she was a black chow, but we have broken away from that, and our new dog is hairy...lol

We have a rescued calico with 4 babies and poodle.

Yes, I have a very old cat. She's a calico and spent the first 10 yrs of her life being litter trained then all of a sudden a few yrs ago she decided she wanted to go outside. She'd never been out side so I was shocked. Now when I get up in the morning, I let my Akita and American Eskimo and my cat (Starbucks) out. She only goes in the front or back yard but no matter what the weather, she wants to go out. She never goes upstairs in my bedroom and she never goes into my sewing room (downstairs). She rotates her "sleeping" space from the automan, the top of the dryer, back of sofa or a table top but unlike the dogs she finds no need to go into rooms other than the kitchen, the bathroom or livingroom. She was a shelter cat and we've had her for about 7yrs and she's a loving cat and the kids can do anything with her and she'll just lay there. So we have a 110 lb dog, a 30lb dog and a 25 lb cat. What a great combination.
