I am knitting Socks for Soldiers deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq. The latest and sweetest request for socks came from a female pilot who flies radar to watch ground activity. Who could resist?

I can do very basic knitting and enjoy making the simplest dishcloths. I've been crocheting over 40 yrs.

That's just darn cool.

Are the colors limited or can you just go crazy with the choices?

I knit and crochet but haven't done either for a while. Will have to get some done in the new year as we are going to have a new winter (over here) grandchild.

HAHA too funny you asked this ,I am in the middle of knitting a sweater for the 18 " American girl dolls for a friend of mine who doesn't know how to knit.My hubby always says I do too many crafts,I should concentrate on one craft and get more and more involved with that craft. Will post pics after I finish it.

Rosy, I can see you are using more stitch markers in your second attempt. I was going to suggest that. Stitch markers save my sanity when I'm knitting with black yarn. Hope it comes out right this time.

Yes, those markers mark the top the bottom and the sides of the Peacock. I also use the little gold ones and recount the stitches for a set as I go. I also use a magnetic board and block out the top and bottom row so I don't read the wrong line. I wasn't too careful the first time but now I am lol....it's too much knitting involved.
