It looks to me like you missed your count on the holes you made. When doing in the round like that, all you have to be is one count off and it will mess up every row. I used to do complicated knitting and crocheting, but now that I am older and more experienced, I am into easy and brainless. I usually knit in the evenings watching TV in the wintertime.[/quote] Yes, you are so right. I was very carefull this time. Apparently, I missed a few turn-it;s. The patterns is really a challenge, I have never come across directions like this lol....I wondered if it could be charted.....here it is in the white. I knitted until 6am this morning lol... I can see the body and legs and neck, so far. |
Rosy, it is so funny that you mention knitting because I quilted part of the day yesterday and then in the evening I pulled out the socks I'm knitting and knitted until bedtime! I spin, knit, crochet, tat, rughook and most other forms of needlework! Some days and weeks I concentrate only on quilting but sometimes I wander from project to project throughout the day!
I do not have that particular pattern but have you checked on Ravelry.com? It's a free knitting/crochet site similar to this site. You can search the pattern and see what others have made with the same pattern. You can also download patterns. www.ravelry.com Vanessa |

I agree, the pictures knitted in are difficult in that every dropped stitch and yarn over has to be exactly as the pattern specifies. When I knit this sort of thing, I make sure that I read and reread the pattern constantly comparing my knitting to the pattern to make sure I am doing it correctly. This pattern is more complicated than most. Hang in there, I'll bet you figure it out. |
me, socks, hats and a sweater or 2. mostly hats right now. easy to carry around. Dad's been in hospital, home and ok for now.

My MIL taught me how. When My sissy show me how to knit I fell in love with that better. I have all sorts of needle work in my chest too. I paint special ceramic pieces now and then and cut my own ornaments when in the mood to paint..... |

It is the trellis one....I remember when I searched for a tut on the web for sock and found a great one with step by step pic and it really sent me on my way.....I knit big sock warmers for hubby as his feet get cold....you should see how he treasures them. He won't even walk on the floor with them lol.... |
I LOVE to knit.. My grandma taught me when I was barely old enough to hold the needles.. I don't remember not knowing how.. I still knit all the time.. The old fashioned "pick your stitchs" style. I love it now as much as I did when I was younger. Knitting and sewing, the two things that have kept me sane.

I knit and quilt but my first craft of choice is crochet lace. I love the rythem of the patterns and the textures I can design. So much fun and portable too!
