Love to knit! My grandmother taught me to knit when I was perhaps 11 or so. Was a simple rectangle of stockinette stitch which was folded somewhat into thirds crosswise to which she had me add a loop and a button from her button box and I'd made myself a purse. Out of cotton rug yarn, no less, Still to this day I always have some kind of project on my needles. Have done machine knitting back in the 60's when I made dresses, skirts/jackets for myself, socks and sweaters for my husband and still have that machine but have forgotten how to use it. I now mostly use circular needles and have taught myself to knit socks (from the toe up) and continue to love knitting. One of my knitting bags goes with me wherever I go in case I have a bit of 'down' time in which to knit.

I have to be doing something, too - especially since DH is a channel surfer and doesn't stay in one program long enough to get into it! When the weather first turns rainy like this, I get out a set of knitting needles but other than straight knitting, I need to really concentrate on it to get it right. Now I have a Kindle so have been reading that, or play games on my laptop. I can't just sit there and stare at the TV, I go to sleep!

I knit. sometimes I like to feel the yarn in my hands. I used to make more complicated things, but now, baby hats, scarfs, afghans, etc.

I used to knit, crochet, needlepoint, cross-stitch, rug hook, embroider. Then, I discovered quilting. So, in ten years, I have a half-completed knit sweater, done a few cross-stitch, and a redwork with embroidery that was finished, but likely only because it was quilted!

Have never seen a knitted peacock, just a crocheted one.

I knit socks. Couple of years ago I was knitting simple sweaters for the Knit for Kids organized by Guidepost Magazine.
