No kidding!! And every year after that as well! And that comes straight from my hunters mouth. :)

Garlic! Garlic & venison were made for each other.

Pot roast! Spread prepared horseradish over seared roast, sprinkle with pepper, pour on a quart or so of stewed tomatoes. Cook at low a long, long time. Cast iron Dutch oven works best. Delish! Even neck comes out tender.

Hubby and three boys all hunt but by the time they by licenses and shells, A new gun this year,, gas,,, The price of a venison roast is not cheap!! Lets not forget the camo and arrows and muzzleloader tag too. Good thing hunting season isn't as long as QUILTing season!!

My next husband is going to be a hunter. I don't hunt myself, but help set and butcher for my cousins in exchange for some of the meat. They get to keep the pelts and such, though :(

Not an issue in our household - neither of us likes hunting.

During my first marriage my ex was not a hunter but anytime he had to be gone I was so happy....of course I was in an abusive relationship for over 11 years with him. But have recently re-married an avid hunter/gunsmith so now I actually miss my love when he is gone!! (thats a good feeling btw!! Lol) However, we both love to shoot and do that together alot and at his request I taught him to sew and he has now made most of his hunting clothes and they look great! He has since decided that he will master making himself an Oxford dress shirt! ( that is when he has time amidst his gun related projects and hunting!) Venison saves us tons of money on meat so I can't wait for him to go hunting.....however I sure do miss him and am always happy when he gets back home!!

Double that for DH. He goes to hunting camps in Canada for two weeks at a time, belongs to a big hunting camp that he owns his own bedroom in upstate and always needing new hunting equipment and new hunting wear. I went him a few times and was bored to tears. He never says a word about how much I spend on anything! One day we will be too old to go and do what we love so we are doing it now.

Okay granted he may have a point, but I would rather clean up the mess after a bout of quilting than a bout of hunting ANY DAY!!!

And unless you mishandle the rotary cutter or needles, quilting doesn't usually involve blood. That automatically gives it the advantage in my book! Bambi keeps his daddy and mama, I sew in peace, Win/Win situation for all.
