Screams of scam. Reminds me of the time I got a check for $5,000.00, told to cash it, keep $500.00 maill them the rest.

Just for the heck of it, I checked on the bank, etc. The bank was a real bank, real address, real name of person on the check.

So, I called the bank and told them what I had. They asked me to email them a copy, which I did. I then called the District attorney down there. They asked me to mail them the check. I told them I'd copy it and send a copy but because it had my name on it I was't mailing the real thing I think I knew for sure what was going on.

Several months later I got a call from the attorney asking for the real check, to write "Void" all over it in red. It seems they caught a ring of people pulling this scam. They printed checks with the name and routing number, address, everything, of a real bank in Tx. These people are now sitting in prison.

Glad I was able to help put them there.

I have a Tastefully Simple business, and a lot of us consultants received an email asking for 600.00 dollars worth of product, then next email address changed, next email oh big whoops sent check to large. Printed everything when check came took it to the bank check was real, had everything correct, drawn on a major lg hospital in this area account, never did hear from the bank if they caught them

someone was asking on another thread about mystery shoppers - this is another scam they pull - we want you to "mystery shop" the Western Union office. We will send you this check, cash it and wire most of it back to us using WU. Keep a percentage for your fee. Of course the whole check they send is bogus.
I have seen this several times on the court TV shows, when they get a third person involved to cash the check.

When I had my Pfaff 130 sewing machine listed on Craigslist, I got several "off the wall" responses...but none like this. I did have some one say they "need this bike...has it ever been in accident". LOL

You shouldn't ever respond back to these type of scams.

I think she's a nut case. I mean who in their right mind would send something like this to a person. Sounds llike she thinks you are a business. Or something. hehee
