I don't think you are cheap at all, you are being frugal and conservative and a good user of all the materials that can be recycled into something else. Like you I think wrapping paper is a waste and refuse to buy the really expensive stuff, it all just gets ripped up and burned and is such a waste to just subsidize the paper companies.

I'm sure your hubby will be pleased with his gift and won't complain about the wrapping, you saved the wrapping expense to put on his gift instead.

I notice one board contributor said she lost her regular status, how do you get it and what does it do for you if you are on regular status.

We have done that with gift bags, when we receive the gift bag, we write our name on the inside, then we pass it on to the next birthday person, they would write their name inside. it was fun to see how many times that bag would reappear and how many times it had been used!

I love it! How creative you are. I'll have to remember this for future wrapping of gifts. I hate spending $ on wrapping paper.

Hi,
I love to skip the gift wrapping.... I save potatoe chip bags (big bags) and turn them inside out, as they are silver and shinny and then cut a bow out of another bag. I thing it is a good thing to rethink gift wrapping as it will just be in a landfill by next trash pick up anyways...

I am so cheap that today I looked at the plastic tray the sausages came in and thought to myself..that would be a great tray to hold pens and pencils in...hmmmm..then I threw out it because I have dozens of trays now LOL

That's not cheap - it's thrifty!! The comics from the Sunday paper also make good gift wrap!!
