then i joined a gym..for the water aerobics. today was my first day. i am one wiped out woman..
Today was my first dy with the WW on line program too.
i am finding it confusing, and am already tired of reading labels!

anyone else do WW on line? can we be friends?!

lovestosew 03-28-2011 01:28 PM

I joined about two weeks ago. I would love someone to follow along with.

pennijanine 03-28-2011 01:31 PM

My DDIL joined a couple of months ago. She has lost about 30 pounds and looks great. BUT, she stays with it and measures and reads ALOT!!!

wvhill22 03-28-2011 01:40 PM

im on line too. my name on WW is wvhill22. My husband and i joined last summer and I lost 30 lbs. we quit last nov and i gained 25 back. so we are now back to the meetings. I have lost five so far. I love the program. one thing I do is mark everything with a permanent marker with how many points it is so I don't have to keep looking it up. Good luck!

Prism99 03-28-2011 01:53 PM

I'm thinking of joining, but wondering if it will really work for me. Is it really easy to use the website? They don't really show a demo of the screens, etc.

i am confused by the site, but i am just getting into it.
i believe they have a special going on. $55.00 for 3 months.
i think they want $12 or $15 to weigh in at the meetings, plus your membership fee.this seemed like the way to go to me.

i am "strut526" on WW, i started a blog today on there also..

i will see what we can do, on this board, to follow each other through out, good and bad..cheering section is important to me!

excellent idea! Grab the big black thick marker!

PATTIESPEARL 03-28-2011 02:22 PM

I joined about 7 weeks ago. Have lost 12 pounds. Yeah!!

 Excellent!

cctx. 03-28-2011 02:29 PM

I never heard of Weight Watchers online.....maybe I should give it some thought on my behalf.

VaNella 03-28-2011 02:29 PM

I plan to join in the next few days. How do I find you?

Mazda 03-28-2011 02:35 PM

I am a lifetime member of weight watchers & faithfully go to my meetings every Monday. The meetings are where I get my motivation.

You will eventually learn the points plus and NOT have to look everything up.

I joined about 3 years ago & have kept off about 46 lbs......problem is I want to lose and keep off about 8 more lbs!

But, WW is the best eating plan.

Remember, you never graduate from WW, it is a lifetime commitment!

Some of my classmates and I go out to eat every week after our meeting!

jaciqltznok 03-28-2011 02:58 PM

should have asked me first, I would have told to skip the confusing costly WW site and go straight to a FREE, easy to use, amazing website..

http://www.sparkpeople.com

the food tracking can not be beat, the exercise videos and tracking are the best on the internet, the information and even the forums are all FREE..and open 24/7.....

Give them a try and see what you think!

tellabella 03-28-2011 02:59 PM

I have thought about the online ww...what do you guys who do it think about it...? How much time do you have to spend online every day? every week? Is it easy to follow?

watterstide 03-28-2011 03:26 PM

you need to be on it everyday, entering your food/points and activity.

check out the link above..sparkpeople..free

Prism99 03-28-2011 03:46 PM

I tried sparkpeople a couple of years ago and really liked the food data entry program, but I found the rest of the website confusing -- especially because of the clutter from so many advertisements. If WW is worse than sparkpeople, I don't want to waste my money on it.

SimpleCook29 03-28-2011 04:18 PM

nope. I use a droid app fro my phone called myfitness something or other.
just punch in your meals and exercise and it does all the work for you.

Hi Kim! welcome to the WW family. I have been doing the new program online since Dec 30th and I've lost 24 lbs so far...I'm also doing the Leslie Sansone "walk at home" dvds. Its been great. You will build up stamina as you go, take it easy and work your way up... you can do it! I will be challenged on Wed when I leave to spend 2 weeks with my 3 sisters in FL, the wine and dessert loving sisters! However, I'm motivated to see "me" again in the mirror, I have 26 more to go and I'm going to do it! go for it, you'll find lots of support. Message me anytime :-)

sewingsuz 03-28-2011 05:28 PM

I should do both. Keep up the good work.

frauhahn 03-29-2011 03:37 AM

I lost about 35 pounds last year on WW on line. Still a member, but have trouble sticking with it since I retired-hoping to get my momentum back! I'll be your friend!

qwkslver 03-29-2011 03:40 AM

I tried that once. I found it confusing. I liked the old points program they had years ago. Good luck to you.

DA Mayer 03-29-2011 03:45 AM

I go to the meetings and have online as part of the fee. I love the interaction of people and do better that way.

I did WW for a while, hardly lost anything. But Sparkpeople I find totally inspiring and much easier to follow. Bonus is that if I am diligent about tracking, I lose easily!!

BMP 03-29-2011 04:05 AM

I am a Lifetime memeber, I follow on line but dont follow the new PointsPlus plan I am still doing the Momentum because I already know most of the points and measurements by heart. All my recipes ETC are in the old plan also. Once you get going it gets easier to follow.
I found that writing on pkgs with a sharpie worked the best for me when I started, I still do that if I have bought something I dont use often or new to me.
It works but you really need to keep track and write everything down that you eat.

grocifer 03-29-2011 04:20 AM

I need to get back to tracking again. I am a lifetime member but the pounds have recently started inching up. It would be nice to be able to check in regularly on this site for inspiration. We need to form a group here.

sewred 03-29-2011 04:39 AM

I'm not online but I had joined and was going to meetings then finances got in the way and am now re-starting on my own today. I have the books and calculator. I would love to have a "buddy" or "buddies" . I stay at home all the time and don't have many friends to talk to. I have a long way to go and had gained back the 10 I lost. Hugs, Julie

remareis 03-29-2011 04:53 AM

Did ww for awhile and lost the weight. After three years it slowly came back. I found the website www.Sparkpeople.com which is great and it is free. It has the food journal which is a wonderful helper.

quilter sue 03-29-2011 05:08 AM

I joined a week ago and I am really confused with the whole thing as I have a hard time figuring it all out! the labels are easier for me than trying to record all the tracking stuff 8-) But I will welcome someone following along with me hope you arnt as confused as I, one thing is we have dial-up computer, so maybe that has something to add to the confusion, at that is what I blame everything on that darn dial-up   I also go a walking tape of Leslie Sanstone and it is awsome, dont have to leave your house and it works your whole body!!

watterstide 03-29-2011 05:21 AM

i bought the walking dvd too!

i would rather do the old points way. i wonder if it is changable on the website, to go to just the points?

MarcyT 03-29-2011 06:05 AM

I also joined about 3 weeks ago. I find it confusing also. I read labels and go on line and find that things have higher points then what I thought. I did lose weight tho, just seems like a lot of work.

redkimba 03-29-2011 06:08 AM

I joined a local WW group, and I'm kinda doing it on-line. I'm more than happy to talk about it with you here. :)

Once you get figure out the system, it gets much easier. Rule of thumb - most fruits & veggies are ZERO points.

redkimba 03-29-2011 06:09 AM

In the local group here, if 20 people sign up you get a free card for the on-line stuff.

j 03-29-2011 06:23 AM

I joined WW about 8 weeks ago and have only lost 8# so far, but I find the meetings expensive $13 a week for really nothing, except to weigh in. I have tried different times to listen to speakers and they talk about everything but food. I made up my mind to stay until the end of April to see how much I lose. Then will quit and I'll just try on my own. - J.

pdunn56 03-29-2011 06:29 AM

Hi everyone... try to stick with it. The website is great for recipes and tracking and heres link to the new changes
http://www.weightwatchers.com/plan/PointsPlus.aspx
it explains why the changes and how they stopped counting calories as equal...carbohydrates are weighted heavier now thats why the points have gone up on those but they also give us more points per day , plus we have the extra 49 a week to use. And fruit is free now. I've been pretty steadily losing 2 lbs a week since New Years but I write EVERYTHING down, and I do the Leslie Sansone DVD's several times a week, just one or 2 miles per day..its all you need to rev up the loss. I just re-signed up for the next 3 months online. Also for those of you who don't mind installing another browser on your computer, called Opera, there's a widget that you can download of just the point calculator that I keep on my desktop when I need a quick point value and I'm not on the WW website. Let me know if anyone wants the link to that. You don't have to use the Opera browser, just say no to be the default browser if it asks during the installation, but it just needs to be on the computer in order for the calculator to work. C'mon quilters! We sit too much between the boards and sewing . We need this!! With all the support around here, I know we can lose a lot of weight together. I still have another 24 lbs to lose so I'll be here for awhile too :)

J, 8 lbs in 8 weeks is great..its doesn't seem like much but when you see a loss every week thats really motivating! but if the meetings aren't really helping you then you can do it on your own,. Just be sure to write everything down thats why
I like the online. I don't really need external motivation because I want to lose the weight and be myself again. That's motivation enough for me :-)

Hi and congratulations! I'm in it for the long haul too :-)

Peggerly 03-29-2011 07:57 AM

I've been doing WW online for 7 weeks now and have lost 14 pounds (with the help of a lot of exercising). My son actually called me a "gym rat" yesterday. I never thought I'd hear those words connected to me. I consider it a wonderful compliment. Unfortunately, I have 30 more pounds to go.

gingergrandma 03-29-2011 02:27 PM

I did go to WW meetings and since the beginning of Feb. and I am going to try it myself. I lost 14.5 lbs.
The fruit and veggies are all 0 points.
Good luck.
