i live east of cincinnati and the temp is 91 with a heat index of 100.   i hate the heat. even with the AC i feel like i am wilting. if it is this hot in june what will july and aug be like. how hot is it where you are? and where are you?

raptureready 06-23-2010 09:27 AM

Do what I do, crank up the air conditioner, pull all the blinds, put on a long sleeve shirt and pretend it's winter. LOL
Not really, but I do have the air on. I just don't go out unless I really have to when it's this hot. Sometimes I get a book and take a nice long barely warm soak in the tub.

marsye 06-23-2010 09:29 AM

It was 104* here in Ar yesterday....its headed for that today!!
Send ice!!!!!!!

HeatherQuilts 06-23-2010 09:35 AM

*sends some ice to Marsye and Trupeach1*
It's not horrible here today, it's 75, but it's 73% humidity...YUCK!!
Yesterday, though, it was 92 and just as humid. Double yuck!!
I'm in the Minneapolis area.

mispati 06-23-2010 09:39 AM

I'm in the Louisville area. I saw on the TV yesterday that we've had 19 days of 90+ temp. Was summer this hot when we were kids? I sure don't remember it hitting me this hard.

Due to asthsma I have been inside too. I only go out if I HAVE to. If I had the strength I would be cleaning my house!! :?
Nah, quilting takes less energy!!!

tcnmom 06-23-2010 09:45 AM

We have dry heat in Az. 107 today. Stay in and sew up some UFO's.

Jim's Gem 06-23-2010 09:46 AM

Ummmmmm we are a gorgeous 71 degrees, blue skies a few little clouds floating around and a light breeze. Of course I am looking out the window of the office I work in so am not able to enjoy this gorgeous weather.
I love where I live!!!

Pineapple Princess 06-23-2010 10:17 AM

Well we hit 110 yesterday and we'll probably get 112 today! :)

CAROLJ 06-23-2010 10:25 AM

110, but dry.

tigger5464 06-23-2010 10:35 AM

It is supposed to be in the 80's again today with thunderstorms off and on again. :( Flash flood warnings until tomorrow morning also :( Tru...this stuff is headed your way :(

mhunt1717 06-23-2010 10:48 AM

Lexington, KY: 91, "feels like" 95. "FEELS LIKE" 212!!!

Pam B 06-23-2010 11:26 AM

Here in central IN it is 90 with 62%humidity making it feel like 100. (I just looked on-line to get the official temp.) The good thing is there is a breeze and it is cloudy. I hate to think what it would be if the sun was shining. I am staying inside today and working on some quilt projects. I am really tired of feeling like I have to be cooped up inside the house. Whatever happened to just pretty summer sunny weather? I hate to have the house closed up and the air on.

julia58 06-23-2010 12:21 PM

It is in the high 90's with 100% humidity. Downright miserable.

ktbb 06-23-2010 12:42 PM

I've got to do it, sorry gals....65 degres, low humidity and beautiful sunshine....Anchorage, gotta love it!

Favorite Fabrics 06-23-2010 12:46 PM

82 degrees and mostly cloudy in Buffalo NY ... when I step outside I can feel the heat radiating off the pavement and the wall of the building.

sharon b 06-23-2010 12:52 PM

84 and humid  Storms this morning , now just HOT

Rhonda 06-23-2010 12:56 PM

dakotamaid 06-23-2010 03:01 PM

I'm in the Des MOines area and yesterday was 105 heat index as of 7:00 pm! Everything is wet!!! and won't dry out. Let's all wish for some breezy dry days!

Boston1954 06-23-2010 03:06 PM

102 here yesterday.

Woodster 06-23-2010 03:07 PM

91*, sunny, breezy - no humidity - windows open and fans on!
Not too bad if you don't move much. Certainly not vacuuming weather (but what is vacuuming weather??)

quiltinghere 06-23-2010 03:10 PM

90's here in Indiana and torrential rains every 15 hours! :(

momymom 06-23-2010 03:29 PM

97 in NC Sandhills

Pamela Artman 06-23-2010 03:35 PM

High 70's, but rainy and humid! Hubby put up one ceiling fan in the living room last night and another in the bedroom today! Nice and comfortable in here today, especially just sewing like I did most of the day!

SuziC 06-23-2010 03:51 PM

It was hot humid and sticky all day today but tonight they are saying severe thunder storms.. I put the little ones in the pool all day to cool them off and tire them out! It is still stiffling

Lostn51 06-23-2010 05:13 PM

Actual temp in west TN for the past 3 days have been 100*, 104* and 102* today. The heat indexes are over 115*

Its not even august yet folks and I have a cross country trip on a motorcycle the tail end of August. It is going to be a hot one for sure!!!

Billy

stitchesnstaples 06-23-2010 05:52 PM

In Bismarck ND at 8:51pm it is 75 with a light breeze. An absolutely beautiful evening. Ate at my sisters tonight on her deck. Was wonderful.

Debbie B 06-23-2010 06:08 PM

Hey Tru Peach, It's about the same here in Huber Heights, Oh. Our air conditioner broke 3 days ago. We just spent money on a new roof and getting a new central air unit is going to have to wait. So in the meantime I have all the ceiling fans at high speed and I'm chewing on ice! Hope it cools down soon.

littlehud 06-23-2010 06:23 PM

I'm in the mid west and it's hot. 90+ and terrible humidity. It's been raining a lot and that just makes it more humid. Good time to be inside.

Woodster 06-23-2010 06:39 PM

About 6 Mountain time, we had what they call a micro-burst. It was nice outside, and all of a sudden the wind blew really hard - so hard my hanging geranium was doing donuts! It lasted about 10 minutes and stopped as quickly as it began.

Sassy913 06-23-2010 06:48 PM

Just a thought...I live in AZ but in the mountains (5200 ft alt) and it still hits 96 like today. A local gal makes neck scarves that are about 2" wide and 30" long that are tubular and filled in the center 1/3 section with the pellets you use in potting soil to maintain moisture. When dry, it lays flat and folds easily into your drawer or purse. But when soaked in cold water for about 20 min. they absorb the water and can be worn around your neck like a kerchief. I have several to go with many wardrobe changes as I work and they look nice as well as keep me cooler. I've even found them to be a benefit with my hot flashes. If you are interest I'll be glad to check on the name of the product they use inside, and send you the pattern. Easy to make, comfortable to wear and really helps keep you comfortable on those hotter then hot days. Can also be worn as a head band while working outdoors in the hot sun and keeps the perspiration from dripping down your face.

sandpat 06-23-2010 06:55 PM

I'm right there with ya' peachy....I think I'm actually shorter from the wilting. W. Tn is sweltering...I watered the garden yesterday for 7 hours....its a wonder I haven't burned up the well pump! The only other thing I can do is stay in and sew. I feed the animals at 6 a.m. and again after 6 or 7 p.m. Its just plain miserable and its only June!!

I will keep a lamp burning in the window for you to find your way.

stitchinwitch 06-24-2010 03:57 AM

Someone in the Ozarks said the other day - "it is so humid that you can WEAR the AIR"

smagruder 06-24-2010 04:08 AM

Hi, I got in the car yesterday and the temp was 109 degrees. Took a while for my air conditioner to make things comfortable. Still 101 when I went out at 6:30 PM. I am in Louisville, Ky

granniebj 06-24-2010 05:05 AM

I'm not even sure what the weather is suppose to be like today. Yesterday it was 90 and very very humid! I can stand the heat but the humidity sucks the life right out of me. I have to go to my daughters every day, but luckily we both have air!

LoriJ 06-24-2010 05:27 AM

We're supposed to get to 101 today with a higher heat index. You're right, if it's this hot in June, what will August be like? Yikes!!!
