Should add that I stay only one update behind. I don't skip updates! I just wait for several weeks to make sure no one is complaining about the update before I go ahead with it.

Also, I find that updating is easier since I caved in and started paying for some iCloud storage. My iPhone would have required connecting to iTunes if I had not updated storage that way, because the updates require a certain amount of free storage area. It depends on how many photos, etc. you have stored on your iPad (and the size of the iPad, of course; mine is the minimum -- 16gb?).
