my major in college was home economics education. had the BEST professor who said, "there are times i go through the house and clean like crazy. other times i clean some rooms and close doors to the others. most times i just write WELCOME in the dust." she was my mentor and i think you should know, my handwriting is wonderful due to lots of practice! you can come see me, or come see my house, choose one.

I love your way of thinking!! It pretty much matches mine except I do have a DH to do my dishes and vacuum the floors once in a blue moon!!!

I love the blue ridge mts. We took that drive a few years ago and loved it. I am a photo nut and it took us 3 days just to get down the skyline drive part. Beautiful country, wish I lived close to you. Then I could enjoy the scenery and have a quilting partner!!!

I don't understand the cleaning your dishes to put them in the dishwasher. My mom's like that, drives me crazy!!!

Friends think I'm nuts because we are 2 people and I run our DW about 5-6 days during the week. I wipe food off, empty the cups, glasses and bowls, careful getting stuff like rice off the dishes and never have a problem with food on the dishes after the normal cycle. Friends tell me they only have a full load about once or twice a week, maybe that's because they wash their breakfast and dinner dishes by hand, dry them and put them away. My DW was bought to work for me, not the other way around. It also makes the kitchen look cleaner by holding the dishes, etc. inside until it's full and ready for cleaning.

I don't either. I do know people who actually wash their dishes and then put them in the dishwasher. Something is wrong somewhere and I don't think it's me. LOL

Have a friend like that too. Last dinner we had at her house she spent about a half hour between dinner and coffee 'rinsing' the dinner dishes and utensils before putting them into the DW. She also puts the food and condiments away immediately - I at least give the hot stuff time to cool off first and don't think a bottle of salad dressing will go bad if I leave it out for awhile after dinner so I can enjoy coffee and dessert with friends. .

Love it. Think I'll print this off and hang it on my front door right next to the sign that says, "NO SOLICITORS - NO EXCEPTIONS"
