It's funny to me, even as little as they are (4 and nearly 3) my kids both appreciate when I make them things. He was really proud and excited that I made him the shirt. My daughter goes around telling people "my mommy made my dress" at church.

How cute. I made my DGS a fleece blanket with Snoopy & Charlie Brown on it to take to the hosp & he was so proud of it. With school fixing to start I have got to make him a drawstring backpack like big brother's & uncle Jakes so he will be big stuff too.

You did a great job and your precious little one looks likes he's really happy about it, too.

Don't worry too much that you won't get another year out of it. Just let him wear these shirts often so he'll get good use out of them. Now have a good excuse to make more next year!

I always made my boys' clothes, too - until they got to the age where all they wanted to wear was jeans and T-shirts. They didn't want to wear dress pants and button-down shirts any more!

But I made my daughter lots of clothes when she was growing up - even her prom gowns. Now I make clothes for my grandchildren, and their pets, too. I do Halloween outfits every year, and costumes when they are in plays for school and church. Just love to sew!
