So I am selling my Brother/Baby Lock Embroidery Professional - 1 head 6 needles and I have it listed on ebay.
So I get a question about whether you can use a usb memory stick on it - I tell the person I doubt it but it does come with the usb cord to hook to a computer so maybe. She the person replies back and says - "I talked to someone more knowledgable than you about these machines and they can convert it so it takes a usb memory stick but it will cost so I'll buy your machin from you for 2000.00 less than you have it listed for...ok?" I'm not kidding that was her direct quote...I'm thinking "seriously? seriously?" I can't even bring myself to respond to this person.... |
NOT "OK"
You certainly don't have to sell it to her! |
NOT!! Like, okay, girliefriend.
What an idiot. |
Good Lord! Some people are inconsiderate and stupid. Don't sell to her.
|
What an idiot she is, or takes you for one! I would respond at all,or like someone else said, just say " No okay!"
|
Don't you just , think how do you know they are more knowledgeable then myself? You don't even know me.
|
Holy Mackerel. That's the most inventive excuse I've seen to reduce the price of an item!
|
How much are you selling it for that she wants a $2000 discount? I have no idea what these machines go for.
I would be VERY nervous selling anything over $100 or so on ebay, sellers have NO protection against buyers who are scam artists. |
Tell them if the USB is important to them, they should buy one from the Knowledgeable person. For $2000.00 Less. ;)

I would be VERY nervous selling anything over $100 or so on ebay, sellers have NO protection against buyers who are scam artists. I ran an embroidery company for 4 years - I know this machine inside and out but she doesn't know that - so I'll give her that but I thought it was awfully nervy to send me 1) an email with that tone and 2) asking for a reduction like that becaus eyou want to use a memory stick instead of your computer. The darn thing hooks to a computer; a memory card reader; take a memory card; cd rom and floppy.... I haven't responded - she hasn't bid so I'm ignoring her - ebay says not to respond to people who make offers outside of the process - so that's what I'm going to do before I tell her where she can go with her "computer sticky thingy" (memory stick). |
yeah, tell her what slot to insert it in, lol!!
|
I don't think I would sell anything expensive on ebay. I have been burnt too many times. Their ebay guarantee is that they take away the offending party's ebay privileges (and I'm sure they just get a different account).
|
I'd just tell her that the machine is being sold "as is" and that any further upgrades are the full responsibility of the buyer. Period. What doesn't make sense is that a USB port will take a cord or a memory stick...they do the same thing! With a cord you get direct transfer from PC to machine and with memory stick you copy to the memory stick and then copy to the machine once the stick is inserted into the machine. Crazy!!

obviously she just wants something for nothing I don't even bother replying to people like this
|
I sell a little on eBay. Never got an email quite like this one, but have gotten some crazy onwes.
|
Be sure to block this person so they can't bid. She sounds like she would try to hit you for a partial refund AFTER the sale.

Not sure if you can do this with ebay, but maybe you can state "price is firm" to prevent haggling. Other than that...great line from a great Aussie movie "Tell her she's dreaming".

as most everybody knows, we strongly discourage venting here.

Thank you for looking!" |
I have always dealt on EBay selling and buying and I have never been taken advantage of either way. You are protected as you said when using PayPal so I never use anything but. Good Luck I hope it sells for you.
|
Dang, I wish I had the money to buy it, I have wanted one for so long and that seems like an awesome price. Good Luck!
|
#1 - if it takes a USB cord, it'll take a USB memory stick
#2 - if you need to buy something that converts, etc, usually the cost is around $30 - 40.00.....unless there is something highly unusually and weird about your machine. and #3 -- RUN RUN RUN....WOW - what a discount!!!! Nice try, no cigar |

your right, i would not even email them back. the nerve of some people! |
First off, just because someone makes you a low ball offer doesn't mean you even need to respond. And secondly, unless you have a "best offer" notation on your auction, ebay doesn't condone or support deals like this that are under the table. Just ignore her and go on your merry way!

Put her on your blocked buyer list NOW. #2. You do not under any conditions want to sell to this person as you will end up with issues down the way. #3. you want to someone who respects you as a seller. #4. save all ebay messages from her til your machine has been sold and buyer is happy...she can always have a friend use their account !! #5. do not have "any more contact" with this person. |
Oh good grief...she sounds like a real winnter!

I would not even acknowledge the offer with a response. Good grief.
|
Oh I would acknowledge it! In no uncertain terms, I would tell her I wouldn't sell it to someone as rude as her for three times my asking price! THEN I would add her to my blocked buyer list!

That hilarious.....I'd use that response! (still giggling) |
i wouldnt reply back just ignore her
|
OMG - she just emailed me and said "Since your being so adament I can offer you $400.00 more but that is it!".
I replied "And my counter offer back to you is a minimum bid through ebay of $3,500.00. Thanks for looking!". I've taken ya'lls advice and gone and blocked her from bidding I can see this becoming a nightmare quickly.... |
