It's great for some situations, like when only one "drinker" is different from the rest, so you can make a pot for everyone and a Keurig for the odd man out. Great for just one cup in the middle of the afternoon. The selection is great at Bed, Bath and Beyond (best prices too). but nothing beats a hot cup (seems hotter) from my regular brewer. Nothing beats my Cuisinart! Drinking New England decaf hazelnut from the Cuisinart (4 cup pot) right now. Best start for the day, coffee and this board.

Tudey 08-04-2011 03:14 AM

I love mine! With a tradional coffeemaker, the first cup is always the freshest and no matter how quickly you get back for another, it just doesn't taste as fresh. My Keurig lets me have that "first cup" flavor every time!

lputna 08-04-2011 03:17 AM

I LOVE mine, I bought the filter Keurig sells to use regular ground coffee, but switched over to the Solofill filter, works so much better looks like a Kcup with a lid, google it

The K cups are pricey, so I use them twice, second cup is not as strong as the first one. I use my coupons to and JCPenneys is cheaper in my town.

The teas are good also.

Enjoy,
Linda Putnam

I just bought the 4-8 cup Bunn coffee maker because I have the bigger one and I wasted too much coffee. That way you don't have to pay for the expensive refills and you can still use your own favorite brand of coffee. It works perfect for me and my husband.Just a suggestion.

mltquilt 08-04-2011 03:44 AM

We have had one for over a year and love it. Our SIL loved ours so much that we gave him one for Christmas. We get our pods at Costco and pick up an occasional specialty coffee when we see it on sale.

Love it! We even have a mini one that fits in our carry on luggage that we take when we travel. It did cause a little stir at the security check point though. The checker kept moving in back and forth on the conveyer belt. He finally asked whoever it belonged in to come over and claim it. They wanted to know what it was. It was all okay when we explained we needed our morning coffee and couldn't stand the stuff offered in most hotel rooms. It has made a great story, though. Following hip replacement surgery my husband has to have a "pat down" because the titanium sets off the alarm. Now he has to explain his coffee pot carry on too.

cookiedal1 08-04-2011 04:00 AM

I love mine and have had it for about a year. Yes it is more expensive but I use coupons for Bed Bath and Beyond for better prices. I use the Keurig on days I work and my regular coffee pot when I am off so it's a little less expensive that way. I absolutely LOVE the iced tea and all the flavored teas that are offered. DH found a brand new one at a garage sale for $10 (yes TEN) and I took it to work. Everyone chips in and brings in K-cups so it's not that big of an expense, and way less than Starbucks which we all were addicted to before I brought in the Keurig.

DebsShelties 08-04-2011 04:01 AM

I have one, love the single cup at a time with it. I purchase the what was once 3 pound containers of coffee and use the attachment to do your own. The tub of coffee lasts me 3 - 4 months instead of one as I only use a teaspoon and a half per cup of coffee.

Dortha 08-04-2011 04:20 AM

I only drink one cup of coffee a day and didn't want the waste of making it in a big pot so, I bought a one cup maker from Carol Wright catalog for $15. I love it !I use coffee "pods" in it...no mess !

kathome 08-04-2011 04:23 AM

I've had one for a few years now and love it. I purchase my k-cup through Keurig. No shipping charges.

I used to get it through Amazon but they discontinued my kind of coffee for automatic shipments.

I think that the cost of the k-cups it high, but when I factored in the cost of coffee that was left in the old regular pot and thrown down the drain it probably evens out.

Lindsey 08-04-2011 04:27 AM

We love ours and love the fact you can get different flavors as he likes strong and I like mine mild roast..

lurag 08-04-2011 04:55 AM

My Aunt and Uncle bought me one and I love it. No waste and I can fix grand kids hot choc, tea, coffee, to their liking. Yes, it is expensive but worth it I think. Have a great day! Lura

jodyma 08-04-2011 05:02 AM

Love mine, although it makes coffee a little strong for my taste. I always use a two cup measuring cup and brew twice and then it's a great cup of coffee. I love the chai, hot chocolate and mocha. ENJOY!!!!

i have the same problem - my husband hates flavored coffee so I bought a Keurig 3 yrs ago and don't know what I would do without it. I also bought a small one for my daughter to take to college with her. Her roomates thanked me.

dorisleidheiser 08-04-2011 05:08 AM

I LOVE MINE. I BUY MY COFFEE PODS ON LINE AT WWW.11thstreetcoffee.com
they have the best price. discounts and free shipping.

skyduck 08-04-2011 05:23 AM

I have a Tassimo...am actually on y third one...I love it! I seriously looked at the Keurig before my lates purchase but stayed wit the Tassimo as I really enjoy one Latte each morning....and I don't find that Keurig has a pod that will do that. It is much cheaper that visiting the local coffee shop each day ;)

I wanted one of these and read lots of reviews. Ended up purchasing Cuisinart's version. Very happy with it. I generally make my first cups of the day using my own coffee and then treat myself to a "special blend" later in the day. Bed Bath & Beyond 20% off coupons are great for buying the k-cups.

LOVE LOVE LOVE mine!!! Mine came with the "My K Cup" attachment so I can use my own coffee plus it came with 60 of the k cups in different flavors. I liked them but kind of pricy so I use the My K Cup all the time. I use larger mugs so I usually run it through twice on the med mug size. Great coffee in less than one minute and no more tossing a half a pot of coffee a day.

MS quilter 08-04-2011 07:40 AM

DD has one. when I'm there, I love it. She does tea too.

Rann 08-04-2011 07:54 AM

I don't like the coffee--too strong for me and tastes bitter on the ones I have had.

amyjo 08-04-2011 07:57 AM

My dauughter bought me one for xmas. I like it. I too hit the large button 2 x for a large cup to go. I don't drink much coffee. Just first thing in morning and then I drink Brisk tea or water.

Here we have various coffee's teas, hot cocoa in the winter and ours has the ice tea feature which is wonderful! I have boxes of sweet tea and sweet peach tea. I'd highly recommend it

WOW, I didn't know it had an ice tea function an you can make single servings, do you have to purchase their products? Thank you for the info.

May in Jersey 08-04-2011 08:17 AM

DH received one for his last B-day from DS#1 and family. They have one, also bought one for their DD to take to college but they aren't big coffee drinkers, tea is what they have most of the time. DH on the other hand is a big coffee drinker, he makes a big Mr Coffee pot each morning, brings a therm cup of coffee with him when he goes into the garage, goes out on errands, etc. Mid afternoon he switches to tea - since it's summer it's ice tea. I've yet to see him make himself a cup in the Keurig, think he doesn't want to put his glasses on to read the directions, LOL! May in Jersey

My Mom purchased hers from here and she loves hers.

DianneK 08-04-2011 08:37 AM

It is convenient, but NOT economical. We are considering returning to the old coffeemaker.

Quiltbeagle 08-04-2011 08:39 AM

I'd love one but don't know if we could afford the machine or the individual coffee packets.

For a one-cupper you can put a regular coffee filter in a mesh colander, sit it on a mug and while holdin the colander handle just pour water through slowly. That's our version of Cowboy Coffee.

birdlady 08-04-2011 08:42 AM

I have had two different size models and just love both of them. The coffee pods can get expensive unless you watch for the adds however if you counter the price with the amount of coffee you throw out when you make a full pot and only drink half of it there really is not a difference. Not to mention that you get a FRESH cup each time it is really worth it. Unless it is just you drinking coffee and you only drink a few cups at each sitting I would say get one with the water reservior on it. It saves the refilling it each time you want a cup of coffee. I LOVE LOVE LOVE mine.

mdollar 08-04-2011 09:26 AM

Yes we have one at home and at my office at work. Great coffee maker. There are tons of different coffees, teas, and hot chocolates to choose from and you can buy an attachment that allows you to use your own ground coffee in it as well. So, if you think that the K-cups are too expensive, you can use your own coffee and still just get one cup at a time. Love it!

Sewingyankee 08-04-2011 09:37 AM

Just love ours. We buy our coffee by the case at BJ's. It's cheaper there. We like the coffee better than Dunkin Doughnuts.

ragamuffin corner 08-04-2011 10:46 AM

Hello Leah, I am originally from Maine and I miss it.The only thing that Florida has going for it is the weather! Now, I have the Keurig and I love the fact I can make a cup anytime but I am finding that my brewer makes loud noises when brewing. I have had it for a couple of years now. The K cups can be a little expensive for the 18 box. And just in case of an emergency I purchased the seperate holder that you can use your favorite coffee also. Give it a try I think you will really like the convience I just wish mine was not so loud.

ragamuffin corner 08-04-2011 10:48 AM

This is true. Especially when I use to throw the unused portion of the old coffee maker. I use to save it and make Ice Coffee but it just didn't taste the same.

oma8355 08-04-2011 10:54 AM

I have one and love it! I also bought the extra cup so I could use my Starbucks coffee. The k-cup coffees are very good, so are the teas. I would check around for price. Our BJ's has one that comes with about 70 k-cups of coffee! Good deals can be found. I wouldn't buy any other coffee maker!

arimuse 08-04-2011 11:02 AM

I love my coffee, and I love it strong, so I gave up on plug in makers of any kind and found a very nice french press at goodwill for 1$ and bought it on a whim. (looked it up online and its a 30$ press) Will never drink anything else and can take it on vacation w/ me, and have coffee in a power outage lol. sharet

ManQuilter66 08-04-2011 12:00 PM

I can NOT live without mine. I have two, one at work and one at home. Love the dark roast and bold coffee flavors. I believe a 20% coupon can be used at Bed, Bath and Beyond towards the purchase of a Keurig.

janetter 08-04-2011 12:56 PM

Some of the best flavors EVER. I always use my 20-30% coupons at Kohles to buy the cups. LOVE IT

rvfun 08-04-2011 01:11 PM

I own a Keurig. I bought a extra filter, one for coffee of my choice grounded, save a fortune. and the basic holder I put a teabag in holder and let it filter thru, a better tea then placing in cup. They are ready to use whenever you have a urge. I Love It. Goes on trips with me too. tip...when filling filter with a scoop of coffee...the first cup is strong, I run again and both top off my commuter mug and perfect flavor. Kids will make hot water for instant oatmeal.

donnacollierbess 08-04-2011 01:13 PM

I have one and we love it!!! The coffee is a bit expensive so don't let that surprise you. And there are many different coffe flavors to select from. I love the french vanilla the best.

However, the coffee pods are ridiculously expensive. I bought the use your own coffee attachment.
I also hit the largest button twice with each brewing - I like a large mug of coffee.

It is an expensive machine so I'd check around - I had a 20% coupon from my local kitchen supply shop.
I think Amazon has it a bit less expensive too.

Enjoy it!

I love mine. My husband really cut back on his coffee drinking using it.

I tried the mesh brew cup but had grounds in my coffee. What's the trick?
