I recently bought myself one - cannot believe I waited so long! It is wonderful!

I wanted one for years........but my late husband wouldn't buy "tools" for me (never could convince him otherwise).....first Christmas after he died, my kids bought it for me :) :) If that machine died today, I'd go out and buy a new one. I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE that machine!!!!!!!

Hi DottieD - The Kitchenaid is great. However, I must put in a word for the British made Kenwood Patissier: I have the Patissier, and am really pleased with it - it is more powerful than the KA and half the price!

However, I see from the posts you have already "taken posession"! My daughter is a patissier and pastry chef, and swears by her KA!

My late husband bought me one about 20 years ago...one of my favorite gifts...a few years later he got me the Kitchen Aid hand mixer...which gets used a lot too. He didn't always get me such great gifts (like the year I got a trolling motor for Mother's day)...but most years he did a great job getting me something I really wanted....sure do miss him!

My Kitchen Aid is one thing that I could not live without. I don't know how I did without one for so many years. You will love it.

Thank you all so much for all your replies and I can see you all love your mixers !!!
I have made my first sponge and it turned out really yummy. I made it from a recipe in
Rachel Allen's cookery book called "Cake". I haven't had the book long - but she has
a programme on TV here in the UK. I saw her using the KA and realized what a brilliant
machine it was - hence wanting to get one. The book is excellent and I would recommend
it!
Well I guess I had better try another recipe as the sponge has only one slice left - I think
DH liked it !!
Merry Christmas and all best wishes,
DottyD in England, UK.
