Knitted Knockers

2 Attachment(s)
I knit these for local distribution for free. I haven't had any requests in months. Within 5 minutes, I'd received two calls for the same size. Since I only keep one pair of each size on hand, I had to hurry to knit another pair of that size. Two days later, I got a request for another pair! So my fingers were flying this month. Knitted Knockers is a national organization, but requests sometimes take weeks to fulfill. This way, mastectomees can get a pair almost immediately. They are so soft and light... so different from the medical ones.

The fine cotton yarn comes in hanks and I use a swift and ball winder to make them into barrels for easy knitting.

The look nice - what are they filled with?

they are stuffed with the poly stuffing such as you buy at JoAnns or Walmart.

is that contraption some sort of knitting device or is it to help rolling skeins into balls?

What a thoughtful project! I'm sure these are appreciated. How long does it take to knit one?
