Afghans are just wider, longer scarves. I would suggest a few scarves and an afghan in different patterns. There are thousands of free patterns on the web, really nice ones on Lion Brand yarn site and Project Linus website. |

This is a great idea! I have been using them as cat toys but now they have way too many. I love the dish cloth idea.

Try starting with a dish cloth. You can practice stitches, and if it's not perfect, it's still useful. A small project that's fairly quick to finish, too. Hope you have fun with it!
