Remember the huge power outage in the NE a few years back? All cell phones couldn't work. Evidently, the connections to the satellites need power! It was really a change for many of our younger folks who live on their mobiles.

Can't get rid of the land line...no cell service at home!

I know no ones going to believe this but it is worth my keeping my land line to use it to find my cell phone which I seem to lose 4 times daily...Yep that's the truth.

We got rid of our land line several years ago. After a month DH paid $90 to have it hooked back up. Every time it rang we argued about who was going to answer it. Had it disconnected again and have never looked back.

The only time a landline is needed is when the electricity goes off, you can still use your phone. But I still have mind just for that reason and I have dsl and can dial up if my dsl needs assistance.

We have a land line, and probably will for quite a few years.
We have a cell phone, but only have it for emergency situations when not home. For that, it costs us $100 a year

My land line was gone about 6 or so years. DH has his cell phone and I have mine. It's a great monthly saving. Multiplied by 6 years.

We don't have cell phone service where our house is located.
