I grew up in Germany and Lawn Gnomes were in everyones yard. I had many because it reminded me of home. I used to have Kids stop and look at them. That did'nt last too long. I don't know what the problem is, but mine were always stolen. I have a few left, but I keep them in my fenced back yard. They remind me when I was a Kid and it's still part of home. ( Heimat)

I have heard that the flamingo factory went out of business. I would like a few myself.

Yeah, like mailbox flags...I can't keep one!

I don't have much yard art and what is there is meant to blend in with the plants. I have to share with you all that there is a lady in my town who does a full-out holiday decoration every single holiday. Right now, her yard is chock full of life-sized easter bunnies (about 8 or 9) tons of baskets, stuffed toys, eggs, tin flowers--you name it. You can watch the traffic slow down coming around the corner when they see her house. Not my thing but more power to her. She must really love it.

My across-the-street neighbors have a display like that, including a display box with the "appropriate" holiday dolls, etc. in it. For "back to school' they have dolls sitting at school desks with a stop light flashing red. :-) My next door neighbor & I just laugh. I'd love to put my flamingoes out front to annoy them, but I'm afraid they'd be stolen.
