A horse is of course of course a horse and no one can talk to a horse of course, unless of course that talking horse is the famous mr Ed. And he was a Zebra. They better change the song. ROFL

What do you mean Ed was not a horse ??? LOL Am I often the last to know these things, Geez I should be offended, but I'm not.
Guess I'll go make Baby blankets for Linus Catch ya later :) Have a great day!! |
I learned that some are closed because of posts that we DON'T see.....some are stopped before we can see them that may be offensive. So, even though the thread LOOKS okay, what's been sent in may not be what we want to see.

If you want freedom of speech in the craft world, you can find it elsewhere. Knitter's Review has a nice off-topic "enter at your own risk" forum.
Or, start your own. Every place is owned and/or operated by someone and they make the rules. I've admin'd two dominant boards. One was all about freedom to do anything except break the (U.S) law. The other was tea and crumpets. While the heaviness of the hand depends on the boss lady, users are free to land on the locale of their choice. |
Personally, I think this site is over monitored. I belong to another discussion board which is very open to all opinions and I thin the only time a post is deleted is when someone advertises without permission or when someone is a scammer of some sort. Sometimes the discussions get pretty spirited and you sure can't have very thin skin with some of the threads. I find the threads which are of interest to me, I read them, interject if I choose to and I move on. Truly, i can't read them all nor do I want to!
All that said, I have total respect for admin, it's his site and should be run in the fashion fitting to him. |
I like the way things are handled here. When I was new to all this forum stuff, I found another forum that I only visited once or twice. The arguing I read scorched my eyebrows and I was truly shocked by what was 'allowed'.
|
That's my point. Go where you're comfortable. I'm comfortable going to the "not very monitored" site because I won't buy into the arguing, nor will I read what is potentially offensive or simply of no interest to me, just like here. The other one is vastly visited by men, so it is what it is.

It would seem sensible to me to stay away from forums that one is unhappy with the way they are run.

Some of us have enough personal drama without adding conflict from a forum. Sometimes you just have to be positive, count to 10 and remember that everyone is entitled to their own opinion. THANK YOU! Admin and Moderators for your guidance an dedication.
