Grand Canyon Dodge City Bonneville Salt Flats Ride the PCH The Grand Tetons Mount Rushmore The Pacific Ocean Pikes Peak Garden of the Gods Mount St Helens The Peterson Museum (all of the legendary hot rods are there) The Sequoias YellowStone I am still writing them down and them I have a big map that I will push pins into and figure out a travel route that will hit most of the sites I want to see. But I want to drink coffee in Seatle, eat chili in Texas, park my bike on Rodeo drive and hit a few shops and see what the fuss is and just completely veg out and have fun!! There are a few car shows and rod shops I want to hit and if I can pull it off I want to go see Jay Leno's Garage!! I have a friend that works for Socal Speed Shop that knows Jay really well and if he can arrange it I will be able to see his cars and the working shop. But it is one of those deals that our schedules have to coincide with each other for it to be able to work. And I want to see if I can meet up with a lot of my quilting and sewing machine friends I have made since I have been a member!!! There has got to be some quilt shows going on and flea markets that we can hit!!! Billy Hope you have a fun and safe trip! |
Topper I looked at a BSA not long ago and it was a restored bike, very beautiful to say the least! And a real good friend has a 66 Triumph Bonneville that is chopped out extremely old school, and man does it ever leak!
The place I bought this bike from the owner is a Brit and he builds most of his bikes to their styles (big tires on front and back) and has some really nice Traditional bikes. This bike that I am getting is one like he built for the Discovery channels Biker Build Off in 2005(?). I have always loved this bike and when I found out that he was selling ones just like it I had to buy it. But like everything else I have had through the years I will sell this before the year is up and buy another one next year..... :roll: Billy |

We were in Colorado last year in August for three weeks, had an a.m.a.z.i.n.g time! We're headed back in Sept ... but we understand some of the higher peaks close mid-Sept - eg Mt Evans. One of the most amazing sites we saw were the Cliff Dwellings at Mesa Verde - haunting, humbling, awesome. If you're in the area, it's worth a whole day! Linda |
Hopefully you will have a helmet with you, it is required in California!!

Now that IS riding light! Good grief, I'm doing good to limit my stuff to one saddlebag. Since you'll be in the business of mailing stuff home, you'll be in good practice for mailing home quilting treasures you find along the way. Enjoy the tour! Linda But I do have a few homes and folks I have to see on this trip like Charlee and BK. Then Lisa (Quilt addict) and I have a date to go do some serious dumpster diving and thrift store hopping!!! I have had offers from quite a few members to stay at your homes while I am on the trip and trust me I will take you guys up on it!! And as soon as I figure the route out then I can see who I will be staying with. But I do want to try and to meet as many members I can while I am out on the road and I am hoping to be able to see as many LQS I can!! Billy |
Great looking bike. Boy, that sounds like a great trip, well adventure! I see ya didnt mention the midwest, but the great lakes are awesome if you got a chance to get up North! And the weather would be good since its Summer!!!!!!!!

You gonna be pulling a trailer or using a T-bag? A Featherweight would fit in either one. hehe
If you are planning to ride in CA you better add a helmet to your list or you will be buying one here if you want to continue to ride. We have a 2000 Harley Road King. It is a great travelin' bike. |
