Just so everyone knows, once I receive your FQ, it does not stay in the orginal evelope so I don't know who sent which one in. I do my best to keep record of who I receive from, just not which one you sent. They then go in one bag for the winner.

In April I will do another 3 months worth of themes so you can send them in if you like. I may try to get them decided by the middle of the month so you can start looking for them.

Some ideas I am kicking around are:

Florals
pastels
purples

Please share some of your ideas of what you want. These are not set yet.

When will we know for sure if these are picked? Id like to send mine in 3 at a time!

I understand you wanting to send in 3 months at a time. I do this quarterly and will be making a decision for the next quarter the end of the month to be ready for April, May, and June.

If more than 3 months at a time are sent in I tend to misplace them and that would not be fair to the winners. I have been doing good this year mailing out in a timely manner and not misplacing them in my apartment. LOL

I will post as soon as I decide for the next quarter, you will still have to sign up each month on the new thread. Or it is a bonus to the winner each month.

I'm in again. I just have to get my fabric picked out and mailed to you.

Debbie

I don't think I posted my weight loss on here for Feb. I was down 6.8 lbs. My total from Jan.1st to Feb. 28 is 20.2 lbs and 21 1/4 inches. It's a slow process, but it's better than going in the other direction. haha

JuneBillie 03-03-2013 08:50 PM

Let me add another congratulations Jodi.

JuneBillie 03-04-2013 06:28 AM

With the theme being coral, I was wondering is our fat/skinny quarter suppose to be solid fabric or is prints allowed too as long as there is some coral in it? Just thought I would ask for clarity.

Thanks Cindy, that does help.

Vanogay 03-04-2013 12:29 PM

Those are gorgeous. I want them - the skinny quarters, that is. Guess I'd better get working on my loss for March (and it's my birth month which means cake - a smaaallll piece, right?)

I would suggest batiks and black/white for future months.
This is my first day to not see Allie. I am having withdrawal. LOL The other grandparents are here for the weekend so I don't feel I should go over there.
I am also doing the new mystery quilt. My first priority right now has to be my Ireland quilt. What I really want to work on is a baby quilt for Allie. :)

Like the black/white and batiks --- also polka dots.

meanmom 03-04-2013 03:21 PM

Oh Cindy those fabrics are beautiful. I had better behave myself. I love them all. I think I need them. I am trying not to buy fabric this year. Trying to use up some of my out of control stash. I have used up quite a bit of the fabric that just isn't my style on the last Mystery train ride and I started a chemo quilt for a friend last night. I am doing a quick pattern I found on Pintrest. Most of it is up on my new design wall now.
I have a lot of fall colors which she loves. I had to really dig thru the mess to find some light colors to complete it. I have made several quilts totally from my stash:-)

So what easy/quick pattern did you on Pintrest? Please share

Vanogay 03-05-2013 05:22 AM

Teriffic Tuesday --- read a neat sidebar article in a Dec/Jan Arthritis Healthg Monitor magazine during a recent doctor's visit - good info -
Head off weight gain
*Trick yourself into eating light. ...wear fitted clothes instead of baggy sweaters, having that snug layer close to my body reminds me not to overindulge.
*Have a 'food exit' stragety. If you find yourself overeating at a party, get away from the food by taking a tour of the house. Ask to see the upstairs, the basement, whatever it takes.
*Sneak in exercise. If you know you'll be skipping a workout, find little ways to inject aerobic exercise and stretching into the day. Take the stairs, park far from the entrance and it'll make a huge difference.
Stay healthy everyone!

The pattern is on www.ricochetandaway.blogspot.com Go under tutorials and scroll down to Beyond HST. That is the pattern. You sew 2 squares together, right side together with a 1/4" seam around all 4 sides. You cut them both directions from corner to corner. The you recut them. There are 5 different ways to put them together. I started with 6 1/2 inch squares and my final block will be about 8 inches. I haven't decided what configuration to use yet. It goes really fast. I just cut a bunch of squares and started sewing. Hope this makes sense.

i'm lurking. haven't been around here for a while. been busy. had the grdsn all last week. he was home from daycare/preschool because he was sick. evenings and weekends, i have been working hard on my 2nd jane. 2 more kites to attach, and it can go into the quilting frame to be done slowly.
i gained towards the end of xmas season, and just can't get back on track, or leave the crap alone. going to try to start using tic tacs to keep my mouth busy. i know i have some around, just have to find them. might be in the motr home. keep on keeping on ladies. you give me motivation.

JuneBillie 03-06-2013 03:38 AM

meanmom those are pretty blocks. I like the fabrics too. Such nice colors.

meanmom 03-06-2013 04:48 AM

Thanks JuneBillie. I am trying to use up my stash. These colors are so not me. I am a brights and batik person. I know the person I am making this for will love it. I decided to make the second set of blocks and have everything sewed into sets of 2. I will probably finish up the blocks tonight and put them on the design wall to arrange the colors. After looking at them again I realized they both start with the same unit of 2 pieces and it will change it to the star block if I arrange them differently. This is a quilt for a friend who is having a mastectomy and chemo soon. She is in the process of scheduling it all now. I need to come up with a good prayer or inspirational saying for the label.
Snow day today so I am off work That will make it hard to behave myself eating. Too much access to food when I am home all day. At work I can't snack even if I want to. Makes it easier to behave. I need to head up to the elliptical or I will get lazy and skip it. THen I think I will sew all day:-)

I love Purples and Florals, Pastels sound good too!! Bright colors are fun Asains are my favorites. Whatever You decide will be great!

I spent a good part of my snow day arranging and rearranging my quilt blocks on my design wall. The more I played with them the more I hated them. Eventually I couldn't stand to look at them any more and chucked them. I am sending them to the island of unloved quilt blocks. I will put them away for a while and pull them out some day and maybe they won't be so ugly. I couldn't even stand to sew them together. I made new blocks. They are mostly sewn together. I like them much better now. I just need borders and to decide how to quilt them.
I did spend 40 minutes on the elliptical and shovel the snow from the driveway. Hopefully that will cancel out the candy bar I ate. I made stew for dinner that was delicious. Lots of veggies. I was home all day and didn't eat too bad. I am also doing a bootcamp class at work and on Fridays we walk a few miles. The weight loss better be better this month than last.

createfourpaws 03-07-2013 05:23 AM

Rec'd FQ from mizkyp yesterday. beautiful FQ.

Ladies ..... if you haven't mailed yet please do so soon. Let me know if there is a problem.

Jodi........I am behind in mailing your winnings, they will be mailed no later than Saturday.

createfourpaws 03-07-2013 05:31 AM

We are getting close to the weekend, what are your plans? I will be going to the Dallas Quilt Show on Saturday afternoon taking mom with me. Then have my date Saturday evening. And yes it is the same man I have been seeing for about 9 months now. Sunday will work on the train mystery. I have my fabrics picked out. Also have another t-shirt quilt up on the design wall, it will be finished quickly. Making these squares all the same size.

Have a terrific Thursday. Choose smart.........eat your protein, veggies and drink your water.

Pam H 03-07-2013 06:48 AM

Cindy, sounds like you have a fun weekend planned. I never made it to the Houston quilt show while I was living in Round Rock. Made plans to but they always fell through. I will have company this weekend so will be cooking and entertaining my sister, niece and 2 great nieces. I will spend Sunday getting ready for a quilt retreat.
I am supposed to weigh in either today or tomorrow for the challenge I joined. I need to lose 21 lbs by the end of April to qualify for prizes. Since I gained back the 4 lbs I lost since the last weigh in I am debating over it. This was supposed to motivate me and it just hasn't happened yet.

blondeslave 03-07-2013 07:58 AM

Don't feel bad Pam. Although I have my food plan working I can't seem to motivate myself to exercise and I LIKE exercising. One thing at a time I suppose.

Yeah, exercise is a problem for me right now too. I seem to really go in phases.

I got mine in the mail to you today.

Teddybear Lady 03-07-2013 02:16 PM

I weighed on Monday and had stayed the same. Went for my weigh in today and was up 2 tenths. I don't know what's going on with my body. I haven't cheated on my diet. My counselor said I may be losing inches right now. I don't care. I enjoy the food program and being on a schedule. My body just seems to have a mind of it's own right now. I told my counselor maybe it was all those desserts I ate last night...in my dream. haha I dreamed I was at a church function and I was eating all the chocolate, caramel, cheesecake stuff. I kept telling myself..."you have to weigh in the morning". I didn't care. I was enjoying all that gooey, sweet, chocolate stuff...Then I woke up. haha

Thanks Debbie, I will let you know when it arrives.

meanmom 03-07-2013 04:21 PM

Debbie I swear i can gain weight just reading a good recipe. Hope I can't gain weight in my dreams too. I thought it was at least safe to eat chocolate in my dreams. I stopped in to visit my elderly uncle on the way home today. He is so lonely. I fixed a pillow for him and he insisted on paying me. He payed me with some pieces of coffee cake. I haven't bought one in years. They were really good but very very sweet. I took a very small piece of each, 2 flavors and my DH pigged out on the rest. It is gone already otherwise I would have probably picked on it all evening.
We are going to a dinner buffet tomorrow night. Not a good restaurant to go to on a diet. We go for the crab legs. Hopefully I can stick mostly to the crab legs. I will do the elliptical before work then we have running club practice before school we walk maybe 1/2 mile. We have a group from the bootcamp class that walks after work on Fridays. Usually about 2 miles. I hope this will offset the buffet.
Pat

JuneBillie 03-07-2013 06:01 PM

Cindy I will try to get mine in the mail tomorrow or else I will miss that part this month, but still be checking in. My dad is in a nursing home for rehabilitation after a knee replacement, and he is 80. We are all checking on him a lot, and it seems me and my dear husband just haven't felt good in a while.

You can be in for the support, but you are past the deadline to sign up for the prize. Welcome aboard.

CountryHouseQuilter 03-08-2013 07:34 AM

Hello Ladies!!!! I've been out of the loop. Lots going on with me lately, which doesn't equate to weight loss unfortunately. I'm voting for maybe Batiks, Greens, Patriotic. Those are good colors for the next 3 months.

Love the t-shirt Quilt Cindy!!!! I need to get one made. I have all the shirts in a bag and I know my husband would love it.

Well, hoping for warmer weather so I can get out and start walking. Wishing everyone good luck on weight loss this month!!!!

mizkyp 03-08-2013 12:42 PM

Hello Everyone,
February was alright for me, I stayed the same. Here's to hoping that March is better.

Painiacs 03-08-2013 08:44 PM
