mymsmess 02-04-2011 03:42 AM

I can't imagine paying that! Just imagine how much material you could get for that amount of $$$$$$$! Geesh! Is there GOLD in it or what?????

QultingaddictUK 02-04-2011 03:42 AM

Surely it is a joke, that is a ghastly fabric IMO and the price

Quiltforme 02-04-2011 03:46 AM

there are 12 bids!!!! who would fight for that fabric it is not vintage

Tussymussy 02-04-2011 03:48 AM

Sad fact is that people can go nuts on Ebay...... going out to search now, for some of that fabric - who knows what you can get for it? :XD:

T-Bones mom 02-04-2011 04:21 AM

I don't think it is ugly, but who in their right mind would pay that kind of money for it? For goodness sakes, it is just material. Not even anything special.

raedar63 02-04-2011 04:39 AM

I like the fabric but never for that kind of price, I cringe at more than 6 bucks a yard lol.

Ann L 02-04-2011 04:40 AM

me too, if only there is someone out there that could use it.

ginnie6 02-04-2011 04:58 AM

are they crazy? Dh would know I was if I paid that for that little bit of fabric lol!

Jo M 02-04-2011 05:10 AM

Oh, those must be "magic" mushrooms on that fabric and everyone is feeling light-headed, to charge or pay a price like that. ROFL

CarrieAnne 02-04-2011 05:16 AM

Wow! Sometimes people just go Crazy on the prices, dont they!

quiltmaker 02-04-2011 05:30 AM

It is a vintage TYPE fabric as the seller said....just like reproduction type fabrics. It was a very popular fabric many, many years ago. Can't remember when but do remember those mushrooms. People bidding must remember it from their youth and want to create a memory that made them happy.

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. We all have our likes and dislikes. We all pay more or less for something we really want. So it is really not surprising to me that there are people willing to pay for that fabric. Just like anything else if someone wants something bad enough and they haven't seen or found it and now have to chance to get it they will pay whatever they want.

KathyAire 02-04-2011 06:29 AM

I think the bidders have a gambling problem. All it takes is two people who don't want to lose. They will go crazy bidding against each other. That's my opinion.

cjomomma 02-04-2011 06:33 AM

It's cute but not for that price!!

Well some ones going to pay that NOW! Crazy!!!

carhop 02-04-2011 07:41 AM

they have got to be kiddng it is uggggly

dpparris 02-04-2011 07:54 AM

Started at $1.79 I bet the seller is looking in their stash for more of this fabric. It's up to $ 96.00 with a little over 12 hours left. I myself can't think of any fabric I would be willing to pay that much for 2 yards. Try explaning that to hubby!

Tink's Mom 02-04-2011 07:54 AM

This type fabric was popular in the 70's. Not my style...then or now.

Ditto, yards and yard of nice fabric.

Central Ohio Quilter 02-04-2011 08:45 AM

What?!?!?!?!? $96?????

Ugly fabric! I can't imagine ever using it in anything!

Crazy!!!

Central Ohio Quilter 02-04-2011 08:47 AM

Just noticed - in the middle of the URL is has "fabric&hash"

Maybe that is the secret ingredient of the fabric!

amandasgramma 02-04-2011 08:58 AM

I'm wondering if that seller has a coupla friends that are upping the bids to fool others into thinking it's special. I've heard of it happening...and for the life of me, I can't figure out why anyone would buy that in the first place!!!

littlehud 02-04-2011 09:12 AM

Wow, even if I loved it I wouldn't pay that price.

debbieumphress 02-04-2011 09:15 AM

Someone's gonna be sorry for that misprint. Hope it is too. one number too many. Ouch.

raedar63 02-04-2011 09:30 AM

Just checked on this for kicks, the last bidder who bid 96.00 is a totally NEW bidder!! Wait till the previous bidder finds out lol. I have some old brown 70's mushroom fabric maybe I need to list it!

isnthatodd 02-04-2011 09:33 AM

All I can say is some people need to get a grip! I don't care what sentimental memories a fabric has, I would never pay 48.00 a yard! That's just crazy.

kwhite 02-04-2011 09:38 AM

They must be French Truffles. Those mushrooms go for over $100.00 a lb at Wegmans.

amazon 02-04-2011 12:01 PM

Maybe the people bidding on it want to enter it in our ugliest fabric challenge here

dreamer2009 02-04-2011 12:09 PM

my guess is this will top out close to $200.00
and... Member Id: y***b ( private ) will win it :)

Sapphire_Rae 02-04-2011 01:06 PM

There are 23 bids and it is at $96.... whoa!

thequiltmama 02-04-2011 01:09 PM

AS my mother use to say, "are they smoking wacky grass?" They would have to be, that is insane. :-0

Happy Treadler 02-04-2011 01:09 PM

That would have made our 'ugly fabric contest'. I agree, someone's got a problem with losing...

carolaug 02-04-2011 01:58 PM

LOL...

ROFLMBO

anniec55 02-04-2011 02:50 PM

OM!!! made me go look! and you're right, still has 5hrs to go currently at 96.00 for 2yd!!! seller is going to laugh all the way to the bank I am sure!! Now I will have to check back to see final bid! unbelievable, no matter what the fabric is!

pojo 02-04-2011 03:23 PM

That's out of my range in price.

What is wrong with people to pay this kind of money I would go without it.
I would take that kind of money and buy some different kinds.
