Original Pete's in Roseville, CA. (I guess I would be considered a "regular")
|
I can't go anymore because I can't afford it, but my late husband and I used to go to the Outback. I loved it!
|
We like to try new places when we travel...usually try to pick a "mom & pop" looking place that the regulars are at....we've been mislead before but that just gives us something to laugh at when we leave.
Can't say we have a real favorite overall |
Abuelo's Mexican Food Cantina in Lubbock.
|
Claim Jumpers
|
I love Red Lobster, but even better is a restaurant in Fenton, MI called Lucky's steakhouse! Their ribs are to die for!!
|
I've been to DZ Akins (as a child the first time). I like Canter's (although no longer kosher). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canter%27s
I also like Carolina BBQ from any place in the Carolinas. And, I know of two amazing pizza parlors. Not sharing! :0D |
Zio's Italian Restaurant in Independence, Missouri for dinner.
IHop (International House of Pancakes) Strawberries and Banana Crepes for breakfast or even dinner. |
I also like Abuelo's Mexican Food restaurant. Of course I have to travel about 4 hours to get to one. (Sigh)
|
I've become a pretty good cook so I go to Chéz Janet's most evenings LOL.
If I am in Denver "California Cafe" in Park Meadows Mall, or "Briarwood" in Golden CO. Here in San Diego..."Ponce's Mexican Restaurant" is one of my favorites. Breakfast at Original Pancake House (not IHOP) in Clairmont or Poway. Best pizza at Nicolosi's. In Ontario CA, believe it or not, the restaurant at the Ayres Hotel (Convention Center) is great. Had a great Champagne Chicken there. Awww, now I'm hungry  |
Beau Jo's Pizza in Idaho Springs, Co. I've only ever been there once on vacation, but I've been craving it ever since. Too bad they don't deliver to Iowa. :(
|
Dizz's As Is, Laguna Beach, CA
Jack's Steakhouse, Redding, CA Erna's Elderberry House, Oakhurst, CA Here: Verdi, a local Bosnian owned Mediterranean restaurant |
For casual dining we frequent "Dennys".
Seafood we like "Red Lobster", but they always have a hour wait. Italian we go to "Pasta House" maybe "Olive Garden" Steaks is any steakhouse like "longhorn" or "Lonestar". We enjoy trying new places, too. Since its just he and I now since the kids are gone we do eat out more often than we use to. I like anything except Chinese! |
No Name Pub on Big Pine Key, Florida. Best pizza in the world!
|
Koran Buffett....they have a Mongolun grill
|
We also prefer to eat at locally owned restaurants and will go out of our way to do so while traveling. Here in the Lansing area we like a hole in the wall called "Golden Harvest" for breakfast, "Emil's" for Italian, "Ukai" for Japenese & sushi, "Eaton Pub" for American, and if I had to choose a chain restaurant it would be "Mitchell's Fish Market".

I havent ate out since last summer. oops thats a lie I ate out back in december with a friend, and it was so so.
|
Pappadeaux's. love it!!
|
Destination restaurant the Pirate House in Savannah, Ga. High priced but an amazing experience. Building dates before the Revolutionary War Seasons 52 in Orlando or Tampa. There may be others. Menu changes 4 times a year to focus on the produce and other foods fresh on the market. All entrees are between 400 and 525 calories. Wonderful food. They may be the originators of the shot glass desserts. Theirs are awesome!

Always stop at DZ Akins when we go to Rosie's Calico Cupboard in La Mesa, but gas prices will definitely put a stop to shopping there for a long time. I have started checking mileage each time I go anywhere. At 25 mpg I have to ask myself if even a 50 mile round trip is necessary now!
Thrift shops for fabric (shirts etc) and Del Taco's 49 cent bean & cheese burritos will be my fabric and food fare. See, I made it back to restaurant! |
Any place where I don't have to cook and do the clean up!!
But far the best Oriental buffet is Wangs, in Modesto at Floyd and Coffee Road. Gone there for many, many years. Every time I go to Modesto I stop there. |
Believe it or not, HOME! My husband is an amazing cook and he can't seem to make anything bad!! :D:D
|
Katz's deli in NY however since I live in Ohio once ever year or so for a birthday I order from them and they ship it. Other then that home Ohio has crappy food.
|
Mike Andersen's in Baton Rouge, LA...best shrimp I ever had.

IHop (International House of Pancakes) Strawberries and Banana Crepes for breakfast or even dinner. Have you eaten at Gioia's on The Hill? Their sandwiches are to die for. A really good, but super pricey restaurant in the same area is LoRusso's. It is a special occasion type of place for us (when the someone offers to babysit). |
Lewisville, TX - Mama's Daughters Diner - breakfast, lunch are dinner. Great homestyle cooking with several daily plated specials and great hamburgers.
mltquilt |
When we travel to Batesville, AR to go to Marshall's Dry Goods, we go to Josie's Steak House. It is located on the White River by the only lock and dam I've ever seen on that river. Beautiful view, great ambiance and the service is great. Not very pricey, guaranteed to satisfy.

The Samrat Indian restaurant in Tallahassee (my favorite within reasonable distance)
|
Burns in Tampa and Seasons 52 in Orlando

Hmmmm.... I have eaten at other great places, but nearby, I really like Monty's Blue Plate Diner in Madison WI. Good stuff!!
