I am trying to get a quilt sandwiched to start quilting it. I spread it out on the table and all of a sudden a lump appeared. I'm thinking----I know I smoothed the batting out. So I went to smooth it out again and they lump made a noise...... :shock: :-o

My cleo lies right next to my hip when I quilt or applique at night. If I dare to disturb her, she'll meow as if to say "must you!"

I am hand quilting a king size bed quilt, so it's easier for me to support the weight by laying it on my bed, and I use a large oval hand frame on a lap stand. Of course, she has to lie right in the middle of the quilt, and if I have to shift position, or get up to go potty, she's right in the way. I find that I'll sit there and wait, so as not to disturb her. Isn't that crazy. What we won't do for our beloveds.

ME ? What did I do wrong ?

My alarm system is a little parrot about the size of a dove. Every time I go to the bathroom, he screams to tell me "Come back!!! Come back!!!" I also have a little female cat who gets under my blankets. I go to my room and there is a big lump in my bed. LOL

Oh my cat loves to do the same thing. I had 320 blocks for this new quilt I am making all laid out in piles ready to start sewing together. I made the mistake of going to get something to drink, when I came back she was laying on top of all my blocks. Of course she knew she shouldn't be there so took off like a shot. Blocks went everywhere. She was put out of the sewing room and the door was closed.

She will be let back in this weekend.

That's too funny. We had a cat that would do that when we made the bed. My current cat has to test everything. Even the tiniest scraps get the comfy test.

We have spent the last week remodeling my sewing room so I haven't been able to sew. My kitty keeps going in there and howls like crazy......he lays beside me on his quilt while I sew and we are both having withdrawals this week! Time to get back to sewing!

I, too, have a helper who likes to watch the needle and play with moving fabric and/or thread. Her name is Lily.

She definitely is watching me. I have to be careful using the machine as she tries to catch the needle with her paws if I'm not watching her closely. Funny thing is that she doesn't want loving but wants to "help" the needle and thread sew the fabric.

Oooh she looks like my MindySue-- 28lbs and12yrs ago but she still loves to help me quilt several quilts have tail feathers stitched into them :lol:
