You weren't kidding! It is really upside down. At first I thought you just posted the picture upside down. Got to show the kids. Never seen anything like it but it makes sense the ornaments hang very nice this way.

I've seen photos of them before, and I can think of two advantages. The ornaments show up better since they hang away from everything instead of getting partly covered by the branches below them, and ... with the smaller footprint, there's more room at the bottom for gifts!

Yup that is what I came up with too.

Good way to fit more presents under it... Unless you put those on the ceiling too! lol

Lots more room under the tree for gifts. I love the idea. Merry Christmas.

i think you could find a tree that had missing or broke limbs and so the same thing!

Kim.....I have seen similar in Bonner's in Frankenmuth.... had to put tree in play-pen one year when DD was year old.

The tree has its own stand that supports it that way. no strings no nothing but the stand. Have had it for about 5 years new. Love it because besides being different the most used up room is at the ceiling and with dogs need I say more LOL!!! plus we put a train around it also.
First time my GS seen it at the age of 4 looked at the tree looked at grammy. (Mind you he's always been a old man) and said well gram I'm here to help decotae your tree but I don't know how to tell you this, and sorry to hurt your feelings BUT do you know you put in upside down. The concern in his little face sp priceless. left us all in tears

LOVE IT! I just saw this on some TV program on cable during the Thanksgiving holidays. A very interestng concept to be sure.

Love the comments the GS made! I can just see the dear's concern for his Gram!

Liked your tree. We live in a small cottage and have done this for the past few years hanging the tree from a hook in the ceiling. It's not as big as yours so doesn't reach the floor and this gives us a pretty tree with still more floor space underneath. Happy Christmas when it comes!
